Beautiful flat, super holiday

We had two weeks in this property in July/August 2008. We were very pleased with the size and spaciousness of the place and thought it was very well equipped. The pool/tennis court area was a major bonus (literally a stone's throw away) and surprisingly quiet for high season. The large balcony was perfect for a relaxing drink in the evening. Overall, we had a very enjoyable holiday and Lagos itself was fantastic, with its super restaurants/shops, beautiful marina and plenty of activities/excursions.
We didn't think the property was in an especially salubrious location (lots of scrubland and building work around) and shops/bars in the immediate vicinity are limited. Also, we thought the times/distances for walking to the beach and town centre were massively understated on the website. Allow at least 20 minutes (to both town centre/beach, on foot) and you won't go far wrong. There is also quite a steep hill to climb if you are walking back from the Marina/Town (not great when you're carrying food shopping and probably a bit of a bind for anyone infirm or with small children). We realised that everyone (British) staying in the area had a rental car and this was probably very wise in the summer heat.
Setting aside the distances issue though, we'd definitely recommend this property and we think it's great value for money. Also, the owners were very friendly and efficient in dealing with our booking and queries prior to our stay. We may well return.
