Golf: There are many well recognised courses in the Western Algarve. Boavista is 5 minutes away by car, Palmares 15 minutes, Parque da Floresta 15 minutes. Ocean Club has discount rates for guests.
Around the Area: The western area is the least developed part of the Algarve. It is famous for its coastal scenery and wonderful beaches, those on the west coast being especially popular with surfers. Walkers will enjoy the Cabo de Sao Vincente National park and the mountains to the north. The nearby historic town of Silves and the mountain area around Monchique are well worth visiting. Cape St Vincent, the most westerly point in mainland Europe is only 30 minutes away by car. The area has many attractions for children including a zoo and a water theme park.
Low Season: The area is very suitable for out of season breaks. Winter weather is mild and usually sunny with daytime temperatures in the 15-20C range. Some restaurants remain open all year and there are always visitors around.
