This spacious 2 bedroom duplex apartment is set in a small, quiet complex. It is only a 15 minute walk from the beach and Praia da Luz - a beautiful Portuguese village, near the town of Lagos on the western Algarve coast. The apartment has many features including on the upper floor: a modern kitchen, dining area and living room which leads out on to a balcony with panoramic views over the two pools. On the lower floor is the main bedroom which leads out on to a large terrace with sun loungers/parasols for private sun bathing and barbecuing, etc. The second bedroom also leads out on to a terrace and is generally cooler in summer. The modern bathroom has a shower over the bath. The apartment has most things that you could want whilst on holiday including: Satellite TV, (free channels ) DVD player, (a number of DVDs for your enjoyment) radio/CD player, paperbacks, cards, dominoes, etc. It has fantastic sea views, is close to all amenities and is perfect for a relaxing holiday

Vilamar is a quiet, relaxing family run complex. Breakfasts, light snacks/meals and bar facilities are all reasonably priced and are available during April to October. Praia da Luz has several shops, cafes, excellent restaurants, well stocked supermarkets, a cinema and a safe sandy beach - the central attraction for many visitors. It also has a Doctor and Dentist surgery. Why not explore the historical town of Lagos and its fabulous marina - only 10 minutes drive away. Travel half an hour up the West Coast and experience the most amazing beaches and waves. Travel half a hour in other directions and you will be able to experience a number of water Theme Parks, excellent Retail Shopping or traditional rural Portuguese villages. There are numerous walks including the one from Luz to Burgau (60 minutes) with its spectacular cliff top views over the Atlantic. The journey from Faro airport takes approximately 55 minutes using the motorway. Directions will be provided.

The apartment is serviced, towels are changed every 3 to 4 days and bed linen is changed at the end of each week. Please bring your own towels for the beach or pool sunbathing. Out and About: The FREE outdoor evening entertainment in Lagos is hard to beat! Artists, musicians, dancers, jugglers, etc perform during the Summer months. There are numerous beaches along the coast - some are big and spectacular, others are small and quiet, all are clean and safe. There are a number of theme parks such as: Slide and Splash, Aqualand and Zoomarine, all within driving distance. There is an array of shopping experiences to be had from the traditional shops in Luz, to the Algarve Retail Shopping Centre - a large, modern shopping mall with all the amenities including, restaurants, bowling alley, cinema, etc. Everything you could ask for.

Golf: There are four golf courses all within 20 minutes drive of 10 Vilamar. The closest is Boavista - just 5 minutes away on the road to Lagos.

The perfect holiday apartment for all

I can not recommend this apartment highly enough. It is situated with easy access to Prai da Luz and many other small villages along the coastline. The apartment itself is beautiful.

When we arrived and opened the door we were more than delighted with what we saw. The apartment is exceptionally clean and tidy and all the fixtures and fittings are of excellent quality. It is the nicest apartment that we have ever been lucky enough to book. There was everything that we could possibly require in the apartment and excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. It was spotlessly clean and very well maintained.

There are two swimming pools in the garden; one adult size and a second smaller one for the children for anyone not wishing to go to the beach. It is completely safe due to the key only access for the guests.

There are many places to eat out either in Prai da Luz or any of the small villages near by. There is also an English Pub for those who enjoy a good pint and good lunch time snacks. We liked the African restaurant in the town. It is child friendly, always busy, has superb food and I advise anyone wishing to go to book first.

Our favorite village was Bagau a couple of miles to the west. The beach was very safe for children and the cafe/restaurant was superb. The food was exceptional; from sandwiches to a full meal.

If you want an apartment that is just that little bit special this is it !!
I will certainly recommend it to any one I know who wishes to visit the western Algarve.

Very Accurate Description

The description of 10 Vilamar is a very true and accurate representation of this apartment. It was modern, clean and well maintained. There is a hair drier which is not listed. The barbeque is worn out and needs replacing.

The owner, Jeff, was very helpful and provided very good customer service and advice throughout.

Users of the apartment are allowed access to the hotel facilities (pools, bar etc.) and the hotel manager gave us unlimited access to his high speed wireless internet LAN for a very small charge. (available in the bar and reception).

During our 20 night stay, bed linen changing and cleaning took place on days 6 and 14 and towels were changed on days 6, 8 and 14.

I would definitely recommend this apartment to a friend and I would definitely return again.
Owner's Response: I feel it is important to provide good customer service and advice throughout the process of booking as it gives people confidence and provides a personal touch.

The barbeque does get used a lot and it will be replaced forthwith.

A place to relax

We spent a week very nice. The appartment is quite silent, with a fantastic terrace where you can have your breakfast or lunch watching the sea.
All the appartment is completly furnished (you will find all kinds of details into the kitchen), very confortamble indeed.

I sincerely recommend this nice place to my friends.

It has three terraces which are ideal to have a meal, have a drink or sunbathe in private.

We were more than delighted with the apartment.Everything was spotlessly clean ,well maintained and was equiped with everything you could need for a holiday. Lovely new kitchen with all mod cons.The lower balcony is a real suntrap and is equiped with sun loungers. It was within easy walking distance of Luz and an ideal base for exploring the west coast by car. The complex is ideal for family use, pool,tennis court and snack bar.Easy to find with great directions from the airport.Would definately recommend this property.

10 Vilamar in July

It’s a long while since my wife and I have had a holiday together without the kids and so this was very much a second honeymoon for us. We had looked forward so much that we were a bit worried that things would never reach our expectations.
We had hired a car from from Hertz at Faro airport and the apartment owner had given us excellent directions for the trip down the coast. It was a leisurely drive and not a bit scary. When we arrived at the Vilamar, we went straight to the apartment. It was spotlessly clean and well prepared for our arrival. What a fabulous place and we really appreciated all the small things that just added to a really lovely feeling of being welcome and at home.
We felt a little guilty that there was no-one else to share the place with, as it is so roomy, but that didn’t trouble us for long. We stayed in on the first night and were very impressed with what appears to be a brand new kitchen. After we had eaten we sat on our bedroom veranda and watched the sunset over the sea. It is so peaceful here and the breeze keeps the apartment quite cool.
We had a lovely stay. Some nights we were happy to stay in and the DVD collection was a real bonus.
The resort is really lovely, if a little sleepy, so we were pleased we had hired a car. Lagos is a great place to visit if you need a bit more activity, although we did get lost in the maze of streets. We did around 450 km during our 9 days and visited lots of beautiful beaches, towns and mountain areas, but it was always so nice to come back to our apartment at Vilamar. Hopefully we can come back again !
