A well equipped one bedroom apartment set in the heart of PRAIA DA LUZ, the western Algarve's best kept secret. The apartment benefits from a large, private, south facing, enclosed garden which is ideal either for young children or for private sunbathing, there are 2 sunbeds provided in the apartment as well as an outdoor table and 4 chairs. From the terrace/garden there are slight sea views. The apartment also benefits from full access to 'THE OCEAN CLUB', including use of its 3 large swimming pools (1 adult only), plus one interior heated pool, maid service, 24 hr reception, 5 tennis courts, poolside bars, thus ensuring as much relaxation, activity and peace of mind as required. All furnishings are new, having been replaced wthin the last 18 months. Only a 5 minute walk from a superb safe sandy beach and very close to a wide selection of restaurants and bars. A romantic getaway for any couple.

Praia da Luz is a traditional Portuguese village situated on the western Algarve coastline just 45 minutes drive from Faro Airport. Nestled between rugged cliffs and the picturesque village of Luz is a stunning white sand beach and a pleasant promenade beside the ocean. Ideal for families and couples seeking a relaxed atmosphere, Luz offers many restaurants to choose from as well as supermarkets, bank, post office, and shops selling traditional Portuguese ceramics. There are a number of excellent walks which start from your doorstep. There are several excellent golf courses which are within easy reach and the bustling town of Lagos is just 10 minutes drive away, Lagos offers an impressive marina and extensive beach with many shops, bars and restaurants along its quaint cobbled streets in the old town. Luz is also within easy reach of fantastic surfing beaches for the surfing enthusiast.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The rates quoted are based on an occupancy of 2, additional guests are charged at £25 per person per week (£15 per week for children aged 12 or under at date of arrival). A 20% deposit (non refundable) is due on booking and the balance plus £200 refundable damages deposit (on a separate cheque) is to be paid 6 weeks prior to the arrival date. In the case of short notice bookings the full amount is payable on booking plus the £200 refundable damages deposit.Wireless internet is now available in the apartment at an extra charge of £15 per week or part week - please contact owner if you would like this facility
  • Check in time is after 2.00pm on day of arrival and check out time is 10.00am on day of departure. Whilst the normal changeover day is a saturday, out of season changeover is flexible - please contact owner with any requests.
  • I am able to accept payment in Pounds sterling either by cheque or bank transfer. I can also accept payment by credit card via Paypal if you prefer, but such a payment will be subject to a supplement of 4%. I am also now able to accept payments in Euros direct into my Portuguese bank account - please ask for details

Notes: The kitchen benefits from a large family size fridge/freezer as well as everything you could need to bake or make a dinner party for 4 people. There are all the utensils you could ever possibly need and more besides. For your enjoyment there is also a selection of books, dvds, cds,  and PS2 games which you are free to use - they are all family orientated and suitable for all ages. There are also a selection of board games for you to use as well - scrabble and chess.There is a large free car park belonging to the apartment block at the back of the property with plenty of parking available.Cleaning is 3 times per week, towels are changed twice weekly and sheets weekly.For late arrivals food parcels can be arranged at an additional cost of €25 + tax for a basic parcel of €50 + tax for a medium parcel - to be paid direct to Ocean Club

Beaches: From Luz you have easy access to many spectacular beaches - the West Coast with it's windswept beaches is only from a 30 minute drive away, the nearby resorts to the West of Luz, of Burgau and Salema are even nearer and are worth a visit. If you wish to explore there are many small roads which lead down to deserted isolated beaches where even in the height of summer will not be crowded - they are too numerous to name here but there are booklets in the apartment which will point you in the right direction.

Lagos: You are only a short 5 to 10 minute drive from the beautiful town of Lagos which is renowned as one of the best towns on the Algarve. If you don't drive then there is a regular bus service into Lagos from Luz and there is always a taxi if neccessary. Stroll around the quaint cobbled streets finding shops, restaurants and bars in which to while away the hours. Then stroll along the promenade and over the bridge into the marina either for boat trips or just to watch the boats from a selection of restaurants and bars

Three weeks in Luz

We decided to treat ouselves to a three week stay in Luz to celebrate our twenty fifth wedding anniversiary . We have been holidaying in Luz for over seventeen years ,so we are very familiar with all aspects of the village.This apartment is the very best that we have stayed in ,it literally has everything you need and more ,and is situated in a perfect position.It is tastefully decorated, modern and immaculate .The kitchen is so fully equiped that we had the most fabulous meals in the apartment instead of dining out.
We spent our days either sitting round the adult pool which is only a minute walk from the apartment,in the garden which is very private,and visiting the usual places in the Algarve to come back to a lovely casserole cooked in the slow cookpot.
Being so close to the local supermarket we were always one of the first in line for fresh rolls and bread in the morning ( dont forget your ticket )
We will definately use this apartment again.

wonderful stay for a week in may

just had a great week in this apartment , it has everything you could ask for,cant wait to go back next year, choice of pools was great and enjoyed the garden in the morning as it was lovely and sunny there. supermarket on your door step and some lovely places to eat out. lagos only a short bus journey away and 10 euros back in a taxi at night .

relaxing time in the sun

We stayed for 10 days beginning of May 09. Apartment is spacious and comfortable. Small garden at rear which is a sun trap.Area was quiet but plenty of restaurants open
Try Plough and Harrow for full Sunday lunch. Nearby supermarket is good for mid day snacks and also general food and drink shopping.Being on The Ocean Club complex had use of their facilities including swimming pools.
Plenty of walks,near to beach and 20 minute ride by local blue coloured bus to Lagos. Lagos is good for a day trip .
If the weather is bad there are plenty of distractions in the apartment inc books,board games,CDs,DVDs,and TV with English channels.
Would recommend this apartment to friends.
Everything described by the owner was correct and more than met or requirements

Very Nice Place to Stay

Stayed here for two weeks in August 2008. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and modern with all the facilities you might expect and all in good working order. It is ideally situated for the local supermarket, Ocean Club facilities, restaurants and beach - all of which are within a 1 minute - 5 minute walk from the property itself. Being right across the road from the Ocean Club complex, was very convenient for my 12 year old son and his friends, as well as the parents. Praia da Luz is nice and "buzzy" during the day, and in the evenings, whilst there are bars and restaurants, it is predominantly quieter at night, making it ideal for families with young children, or those who might just might prefer the quiet life.

A great place for a great holiday

Stayed here in November 07 for one week, had a great time. For the time of year the weather was hot and sunny, hardly saw any clouds.
Apartment is very central in the resort, very near the supermarket, the beach and the restaurants.
Good quality furnishings - all appear new. Kitchen is well equipped to make anything from freshly squeezed orange juice to a dinner party meal for 4.
The south facing terrace is a wonderful place to sit having breakfast, completely sheltered and in direct sunlight, the garden is a bonus as the owner has provided a couple of sunloungers and with the walls the garden is very private and a sun trap.
This is a good base to explore all the Western Algarve has to offer - Lagos is a 10 minute drive away, Portimao 20 minutes, Alvor a similar distance and Sagres at the Western tip of Portugal 20 minutes away.
There is a good choice of restaurants catering for all tastes and prices.
Hoping to go again later this year if I can get a booking.
