Things to do in Lagos:
Lagos has much to attract the visitor. The new Marina is just one example of the renewed investment here. There are several churches, and connected to the church of Santo Antonio is a small municipal museum, which contains curiosities and traditional artefacts as well as city documents and archaeological finds. There are boat trips, deep-sea fishing trips and tours of the grottoes that lie beneath the Ponte de Piedade. Windsurfers can be hired at many of the larger beaches. There are opportunities for Divers to explore the seabed. And of course there are beaches of all shapes and sizes, from the long sandy stretch of Meia Praia to the small cliff-bound hideaways of the Ponte de Piedade. The two mountains to the north of Portimao are known as the Serra de Monchique. The village of Monchique lies on slopes of Foia with several restaurants offerring Chicken Piri-piri. Below the village are the Caldas de Monchique, the mineral water springs utilised since Roman times. And much more to do.
