Spacious apartment - wonderful beach & sea views
Large new (completed March 2005) comfortably-furnished 2nd floor apartment with superb beach and sea views. Located in Ocean Club Gardens with full access to Luz Ocean Club’s facilities, which include 4 swimming pools (1 heated, indoor), 5 tennis courts (for which a small charge is levied), and concessionary rates for 3 local golf courses. Large lounge \ dining room with satellite TV and DVD player. Fully-fitted, well-equipped kitchen with washing machine and microwave. 2 twin bedrooms, both with fully-fitted wardrobes. The master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom with shower. There is a second bathroom also with shower. Both the lounge and the master bedroom open onto a large, south-facing balcony with splendid views of Luz beach and the cliffs to the east, and equipped with patio table and chairs plus 2 sun loungers.

Luz is a small, family-oriented resort with a beautiful beach on the western Algarve and one hour’s drive from Faro. It is 5km to the west of the attractive old town of Lagos, with its fishing harbour and marina. To the west of Luz are some of the finest and least-crowded beaches of the Algarve, including some wonderful surfing beaches. Most of the coast west of Lagos is situated within the protected Costa Vicentina Natural Park. About 40km inland are the scenic Serra da Monchique, the highest mountain range in the south, and the beautiful old spa town of Caldas de Monchique.

| Notes: | Although not situated within the Luz Ocean Club complex, it is close by with access to all the facilities of the Ocean Club included in the holiday price. These include 24-hour reception, restaurant and club bar, 2 large family pools, I adult pool (heated), 1 indoor pool (heated), 3 poolside snack bars, children's creche. There are 5 tennis courts (2 floodlit) for the use of which a small charge is levied, and concessionary rates apply for 3 local golf courses: Boavista, Parque da Floresta and Palmares. There are a further 20 courses all within an hour's drive of Luz. Preferred changeover day is Saturday, however, an alternative day may be negotiated out of high season. |
Water-related activities
Lots of water-related sports and activities are available locally including banana rides, water-skiing, jet skiing, sailing and all types of surfing. Luz is an excellent place to learn to dive, with a choice of local dive schools which will train you to the internationally recognised PADI certificate standard. Big Game is available from Florida style game fishing boats, and there are also many boat trips to nearby grottoes and sea caves, plus sightseeing cruises. Surfers will note that the apartment is only a short drive from the wonderful surfing beaches of the Algarve’s west coast.
Horse-riding
Situated on the edge of one of the region’s largest and most important nature parks – the Costa Vicentina Nature Reserve, Luz is close to some beautiful countryside. Horse riding is an excellent way to take in the local scenery. There are several stables in the vicinity and at the Ocean Club Reception they will be happy to recommend a range of equestrian activities.

'...the people at Ocean Club were most helpful including transportation to the apartment. Your apartment is absolutely wonderful. Great location, fabulous view, very spacious with everything we needed to make an enjoyable stay. It was spotless when we arrived and kept that way by Alice. It is a wonderful small town. Restaurant food is just excellent as was the food in the supermarket. So, it was a perfect holiday, very quiet, and very enjoyable…and one main reason being the accommodation. I would not hesitate to recommend your place to anyone, as well as locating in Luz' (Mr. & Mrs. J Dowsett)
