A modern, luxury apartment, in the picturesque village of Luz. The stunning beach, restaurants and shops are all within a 10 minute walk, and golfers have a choice of 4 major courses within a 20 minute drive. St James caters for everyone, with a large adult swimming pool, separate children's pool, playground and on-site mini mart and snack bar/restaurant. The apartment has two balconies capturing all day sun, with stunning views of either Luz village or the swimming pools and landscaped gardens of the complex. Luz is a relaxed and friendly village in the Western Algarve. There are great restaurants, shops and bars, and a beautiful, easily accessible, beach hosting a range of watersports during the Summer months. The nearby, historical, town of Lagos, boasts winding cobbled streets surrounded by 16th century walls, numerous stunning beaches, a marina, quality restaurants, and quaint bars and clubs attracting a bustling nightlife. There are 24, world renowned, golf courses scattered throughout the Algarve, Boavista is the nearest at just a 5 minute drive away and a further 4 are within a 20 minute drive. The Algarve also offers waterparks, shopping centres, cinemas, bowling, zoos and some of the finest scenery you will ever see.

Notes to the rental rates

  • Long term Winter lets are available at £600 per calender month for 08/09 (including all bills). Long term lettings are also available throughout the year for which rates can be negotiated.
  • The changeover day is flexible so that guests can find the best deals on flights. If the duration of your stay is more or less than a week, or covers two different rental periods, the rates will be calculated pro rata. The rates include a maid service once a week and all bed linen and bathroom towels. There is a non-returnable deposit to pay of £100 per week to secure the booking, and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to your stay, together with a damage waiver of £100 which is refundable on your return (once the apartment has been checked). We can accept payment in Sterling or Euros. Guests must check in after 2pm on day of arrival and leave the apartment by 10am on day of departure. Any other arrangements will be subject to prior agreement.
  • A local management agency is available to help with any queries or problems that may arise during your visit. They can also arrange an extra cot and highchair, air conditioning units or welcome food packs for a small extra fee - please specify when booking if you require any of these services.

Getting around

The nearest airport is Faro which is just a 50 minute drive down the A22 motorway. If you plan to hire a car (recommended if you plan to do a lot of sight-seeing and/or golfing), you will find many car hire firms at the airport. Alternatively, a taxi will cost around £50 each way, or if you prebook with a company (such as Resorthoppa) you can get a private transfer for about £40 per person return. Once in Luz everything you need is within walking distance, but if you wish to travel around and see some of the other spectacular sights in the Algarve, there is a regular bus service and a taxi stand situated 100m away from the apartment.

Places to visit

Luz is the ideal place from which to explore the Western Algarve, and beyond, as the new A22 motorway makes the whole of the Algarve easily accessible. Lagos has lovely boutiques and restaurants, plus dolphin watching, grotto trips and surfing excursions available at the marina. The beautiful rolling hills and spring in Monchique are definitely worth a visit, and so is Foia, the highest point in the Algarve, with spectacular views all the way to the sea! There is also a historic fortress at Cape St Vincent, the well renowned beach of Praia da Rocha, three huge waterparks (the nearest in Lagoa) and the Algarves very own party capital - Albufeira, all within a 30 minute drive. Plus much much more!

Golf Information:

Golfers flock to the Algarve all year round due to the mild winter climate, spectacular scenery and the manicured fairways and greens of many world class courses. None of the present courses are more than 15km away from the coast but vary greatly from the steep hillsides at Parque de Floresta to the flat terrain of Salgados, so whatever course you are looking for, the Algarve is sure to have it! Here is a brief summary of the courses nearest to Luz: *BOAVISTA - 5 minutes drive, par 71, handicap card required, views of Atlantic ocean and hills of Monchique. *PALMARES - 10 minutes drive, par 71, gentle slopes above an extensive beach. *PARQUE DE FLORESTA - 15 minutes drive, par 72, rolling, hilly terrain. *PENINA - 20 minutes drive, par 73, handicap card required, leafy with large water hazards.
