This is a superb, fully air-conditioned, spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment in the St James complex in Praia da Luz. The huge balcony can be accessed from both bedrooms & lounge via patio doors, allowing all guests to enjoy the delights of Algarve outdoor living. The St James complex provides a children's play area and both adults' & children's pools all set in landscaped gardens. Alternatively, if you are feeling a little more energetic, you could stroll down to the blue-flag beach or visit the many varied shops and wonderful restaurants and bars that the charming village of Luz has to offer. For golfers, there are 4 golf courses between a 5 and 20 minute drive of the apartment and the beaches of the western Algarve are famous for both surfing and fishing.

Praia da Luz is a beach destination in the Algarve, at just under one hours easy drive from Faro airport. The development of the town is mostly low rise apartments and villas of all sizes, and the facilities are mainly aimed at family holidays, although suitable for people of all ages. There is a great variety of family friendly restaurants and bars, good shops and supermarkets and all the amenities for a complete holiday. There is a beautiful sandy beach perfect for sun bathing and water sports, and Luz beach sports the European blue flag indicating clean sand and clean water. To the east of town you find some spectacular cliffs and among them the prominent black rock Rocha Negra. This is an intrusion of lava produced from the volcanoes of Monchique some 190 million to 135 million years ago. Luz is just 8 minutes west of the larger historic town of Lagos which is provides great sightseeing, plenty of shopping, good night life, and a large established marina.

    Please quote 'holiday-rentals' when making your booking or enquiry.
  • We accept payment in Sterling or Euros. The rates include cleaning once a week and all bed linen and bathroom towels. There is a non-returnable deposit of £100 per week to secure the booking, with the balance due 8 weeks prior to your stay. A damage bond of £100 which is refundable on your return (once the apartment has been checked) must also be paid with the balance.
    Changeover days are flexible and if the duration of your stay is more or less than a week, or covers two different rental periods, the rates will be calculated pro rata.
  • Guests must check in after 2pm on day of arrival and leave the apartment by 10am on day of departure. Any other arrangements will be subject to prior agreement. Long term lettings are also available throughout the year for which rates can be negotiated.
    A very local management agency is available to help with any queries or problems that may arise during your visit.

The property is managed by a local agency that speaks perfect English and will be happy to help with any of your requirements. We try to be flexible with changeover days where possible. This allows you to look for the best flight prices. Towels and bedding are changed weekly. Please supply your own beach/pool towels. Weekly cleaning included. Praia da Luz Beach: A short 10min walk from the apartment brings you to the gently shelving Luz beach, with soft golden sands. The remnants of volcanic activity from long ago can been seen at the far end of the beach, know locally as the Rocha Negra or 'Black Rock'. Rock pools and a beach-front restaurant, complete with children’s play area make the beach a great place for all the family!

Activities / Things to do: From Luz, there are day trip coaches to the water parks (Aqualand is one) and the Dolphin park (Zoomarine), and many other attractions in the Algarve. Surfing, sailing, fishing and scuba-diving trips can be booked for departure from Luz or nearby Lagos.

Travel Arrangements: The apartment is c.80km/50miles from Faro airport and travel time should take about 50min-1hour. Full directions can be found on our website. You don't need a car to get to or travel around Luz as bus and taxi services operate to and from Luz and Faro airport. Car hire is available in the town for those who wish to explore the Algarve.

Golf: For golfers, there are 4 golf courses within 5 - 20 minutes drive from the apartment.

I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your apartment.

It is a lovely area and a lovely apartment, and we all wished we were staying longer!

The weather as you may have heard was very hot even by Portuguese standards, so at least we were prepared for England's heatwave!

I do hope all was well with the apartment on our departure

Sun, Sea, Sand and Sangria!

This was our first visit to Praia Da Luz and undoubtedly won't be our last. Having booked on friends recommendation, we were delighted upon our arrival at the apartment. Beautifully clean and tidy, thoughtfully furnished and blown away when we saw the balcony. Super views over the pool area suited our family perfectly. Meeting up with friends and entertaining on the balcony was delightful and made easy with such fabulous facilities and location. The convenience of the apartment meant we could wander from poolside to beachside within a few minutes amble down the road- the best of both worlds! Highly recommended- thanks David.

Excellent Apartment

This apartment exceeded our expections, the pictures on the internet do not do it justice. It was clean,spacious and was home from home. The balcony was very nice and great for our kids to safetly run around. The pool area was also a great advantage being so close.

The complex is within walking distance to everything but far enough away to be nice and quiet.

We will be looking to come back to portugal and hopefully stay in this apartment. Thanks very much

Having visited Luz & Burgau for many years, this was the first time we had rented an apartment as a family of 3, rather than a large villa with lots of friends so we thought it would be a v. different experience to be in an apartment in a complex - it did, however, prove to be an excellent choice and we had a fantastic time.
The apartment is lovely with everything supplied that we could need - very comfortable, clean and spacious with nice decor. The balcony is excellent and the largest on the complex - it allowed us to have our privacy and also, with a 2.5 year old, gave her the space to play outside safely. We only found all the beach toys etc 2 days before we left - but it's a lovely idea to have everything there (they are in the storage box on the balcony!).
The pool area was clean and well maintained and very quiet - and of course, the lovely beach is just a short walk down the hill. It's a good idea to take the umbrella and mats down to the beach as the shades and chairs on the beach seemed to be very expensive to hire out this year!
We had a fabulous holiday and enjoyed staying in the apartment - thank you David, we'll definitely recommend it to others and will visit again.

Given this was our first visit to Portugal, we could not have chosen a better apartment.The apartment was fantastic, clean and very well maintained. We found that the apartment had all the facilities we required such as cooking utensils, washing machine, dish washer, plenty of space, tv, dvd's, magazines, brollies, sun lounger & even some beach gear!!
We particularly enjoyed the amazing balcony which had a great size table, we entertained family and friends who were staying nearby. Pool area and bar are very clean and well maintained, staff were very friendly.
Without a doubt this is the best apartment on St James Complex. We would definitely stay here again and I would certainly recommend it to others!
