Foz da Ria is a beautiful apartment complex in the Western Algarve, situated close to the beach and Palmares golf course yet only 15 mins from the historic town of Lagos. The apartment has a commanding view from its elevated position over the Ria da Alvor estuary and out to sea and it's popular with families, couples, singles and golfers. The apartment has been furnished in an appealing, contemporary style with guest's enjoyment, relaxation and comfort in mind. You will find an LCD TV with satelite channels, air conditioning to keep you cool, DVD player with the latest films, MP3 player, dishwasher, microwave and even a library with a selection of books to read by the pool. After a hard day sunbathing on the nearby Meia Praia beach, you can dine al-fresco on the spacious balcony with a beer or glass of wine watching the sun go down over the estuary. Golf Information 1: Foz da Ria is close to some magnificent golf courses. Palmares golf course is within a stones throw of the property and comprises of 18 holes, par 71, and length of 5,961 metres. It is best known for its breathtaking scenery. The setting is idyllic with the majority of the holes on gentle slopes above the extensive beach stretching from the Lagos Marina to the mouth of the Alvor River. Palmares course architect Frank Pennink, took full advantage of the magnificent site. A sequence of five pure links holes evoke memories of famous British layouts, whilst the upper holes wind through groves of almond and fig trees making the course renowned for its annual Almond Blossom tournament in February. Penina is the Championship course designed by Sir Henry Cotton, situated within a few kilometers of Foz da Ria at Portimão. This course is considered a masterpiece and was the first grass golf course in the Algarve.

Golf Information 2: Boavista Golf Course is set overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Lagos and the Monchique Hills. Designer Howard Swan has successfully integrated his layout into the existing natural terrain using the very features that make Boavista a delight to the eye. In addition to the 18-hole golf course and driving range there is a teaching academy. Alto Golf is situated at Alvor and was the last 18-hole course designed by Sir Henry Cotton with construction starting shortly before his death in Dec 1987 and opened in 1991 by the President of Portugal. And if all this is not enough a short distance along the coast is Carvoeiro Golf, Pinta and Gramacho Courses both at Praia do Carvoeiro.

Fabulous stay at Foz da ria

We had a fabulous holiday at Foz da ria. The apartment was very well equipped and extremely comfortable. We liked the little personal touches - the sun umbrellas, books to read by the pool, DVD's and games to play.

We loved the jacuzzi and sauna too and its situated in a beautiful place overlooking the estuary and the sea. Lagos is very pleasant and we found lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. We would definitely book again
Owner's Response: We take a lot of care to ensure our apartment is as comfortable as possible for our guests and always value their feedback. We try to make it home-from-home and think of the little touches that our guests would appreciate.

Relaxing holiday in a beautiful apartment

After staying three times in Apartment1i at the Foz da ria apartment complex I am very happy to recommend it as a delightfully peaceful place for a holiday. The apartment is furnished to a high standard of comfort and convenience with a fully equipped kitchen. Every need has been provided for, even to the availability of books and games. Spectacular views from the front windows look across to the Ria de Alvor estuary and from the rear windows over unspoilt countryside to mountains in the background. Outside the building are well laid out gardens with swimming pools and an area with children's activities. All kinds of activities are available only a short distance away. Nearby is the picturesque town of Lagos with its marina, excellent restaurants and interesting shops. Between the town and apartment is a lovely long sandy beach, ideal for walking along.

An amazing place to say

We had the most wonderful time at this very well equipped appartment. It combined luxury with a fantastic family holiday - perfect for parents and the kids. Our daughter loved the children's swimming pool and play area in particular. The complex is well maintained and in a relaxing location.
Nearby towns offer great restaurants and interesting shops. The beaches have miles of white sand and the clearest blue water we've ever seen!
Can't wait to go back - in fact we've already booked!
