Salsalito is 1min by car, or 10min walking to the charming fishing village of Burgau, which is built on a hillside. Its fisherman's cottages tumble down narrow cobbles streets towards the Horseshoe bay, with its sandy beach & famous beach bar. You can watch the fishermen mending their nets before they launch their boats for the evening catch. There are 16 restaurants in Burgau, from locally caught fish to international cuisine. 3 mins by car to Luz, which has a glorious sandy beach, shops, bank, chemist, disco. Lagos is 10 mins by car, is steeped with history and charm, boasting of a fabulous marina, loads of shops & nightlife. Cape St Vincent is 20 mins by car, walk around the cape & visit the museum, then follow the road up to the west coast & discover the long unspoilt sandy beaches, a surfer’s paradise. A day to the Monchique Mountains is a must & sample the chicken piri-piri, on the way up, visit the town of Silves, the ancient capital of the Algarve & stroll around the castle.

SALSALITO: Salsalito has a Jacuzzi / style bubble seat in the pool .A kitchen/barbecue, has been a great success, comments,'it is better equipped than my kitchen at home'. This has been widely used by guests staying for 1 week and over, especially when they have rented all 4 rooms as a group party. There is a library, cards,board games. If you wish for Holistic treatments, it is advisable to book in advance,i.e,pedicure,manicure,Indian head massage,massage,aromatherapy. Salsalito is all about having fun and relaxing at the same time. The honesty bar is very popular as guests meet up for a chat before and after dining and enjoy meeting some of the local characters who pop in for a sun downer. .

WATERSPORTS: Burgau beach bar hires paddle boats and canoes. Luz water skiing, banana boat, surfing. Lagos:dolphin watching, para sailing, paragliding,deep sea fishing trips, boat trips, surf school. jet ski, water skiing,sailing... Up and coming events at the Algarves new Autodrome racing circuit. A very unique and charming place near one of the most charming village in the Algarve, Burdau. Sally and Ralph make you really feel at home, and have conceived the house to make people feel that way ! A little paradise where we met some wonderful persons around the open bar ! Salsalito is defintely the place to stay for a resting and a charming moment in the Algarve.

Annie and Mike popped around last night for a drink or 5, they met some of the new guests and some of our family and friends, they wished we had room for them, they moved out of the other accomodation and are now staying in Burgau.

Thank you Sally and Ralph for making our fifth trip to you so wonderful. you are the best hosts ever, your home is an oasis of calm in the most perfect location. We feel completely at home there, and will return as often as we can. The bar is a great place to relax and make friends, and your breakfasts are also wonderful, but the best thing is the pool and gardens, where you could be anywhere in the world, its just perfect.
We have travelled all over the world, your home is our favourite place to return to.
