The property is located in a smart complex of only 26 houses within enclosed private gardens and own parking space. The house has spectacular sea views from the roof terrace with glorious sunsets, stunning communal pool and gardens, 2 double bedrooms (hair dryer) with wardrobes. There's a romantic terrace off the master bedroom for sundowners, 2 bathrooms, spacious open plan lounge with 6 seater dining area, a woodburning stove, fully fitted kitchen, well equipped. Ideal for self-catering. The property is equipped with digital TV channels and DVD, terrace and patio furniture with BBQ. There's a roof terrace with parasol for sunbathing. Bed linen and house towels are provided. Please bring your own towels for the beach/pool. To lighten your suitcase, we supply bathroom basics other homely comforts. For longer stays, there's an optional cleaner available (extra charge) who will freshen up the house and change sheets and towels. Please, no smoking in the house

Location: Praia da Luz / Luz in Portugal

Praia da Luz is a small town with a beautiful beach and sea front and is located 5 kilometres from the larger town of Lagos. There are many superb restaurants offering a range of well-priced food, beach cafes, bars, cash machines, a bank, medical centre and supermarkets - the nearest and most interesting being 5 minutes walk away. The beach is attractive, sandy and flat with large cliffs to the left, and is half a mile long. Water sports available in the summer months. Sun beds and parasols can be hired for a small fee. A promenade running the length of the beach is fringed with palm trees and various cafes. There are many good golf courses close to Praia de Luz the nearest two being Boavista and Parque de Floresta which are amongst the best in Europe. The sand-duned beaches on the west coast, 45 minutes drive, provide brilliant surfing and parascending. Lively club scene in Lagos - 6 to 10 euros in a taxi. Relaxation is available in Monchique at the well-known spa.

Transport from Faro airport: A taxi can be arranged at a cost of about 70-90 euros. Taxi John is available and he is Luz-based. He has to be booked in advance, but usually only needs one day's notice for local trips to, say Zoo Marine, during your stay. He has all the required baby-seats with him. There is also a shuttle bus service which will tour all the hotels; one family of 6 had the return journey mini-bus all to themselves! There is a new bus service that stops at the hotel opposite, its one of those city bus routes that charges about 1-3 Euros per trip or for a day ticket enabling you to get on and off all day long. It's very good for little legs returning from a busy day at the beach, or for exploring the local villages (or Sunday lunch at the lovely beach restaurant in Burgau) If you are looking to rent TWO OR THREE HOUSES in Vila Serena, we are able to arrange this with the neighbouring owners through our caretaker. Each house sleeps 6. A fair amount of notice is welcomed to organise this.

Home from home...

We have just spent an enjoyable week at this property for the October half term. We loved the house and felt at home as soon as we walked in. It is very nicely furnished and felt very spacious for just the four of us. The roof terrace was a welcome place to hang out, read, eat and sunbathe. It's worth noting that the property is at the top of a fairly steep hill from the main town and beach. This was fine for us but I was glad I hadn't taken my mum! It was great to have a TV, DVD and satellite channels - especially since it did rain a couple of times. Also good provision of books and games available. The town itself contains a number of restaurants but we did feel it was quite hard to find more basic fare at reasonable prices for discerning teenagers! Still, we had a great break and would definitely recommend the lovely accommodation.
Owner's Response: It's not easy pleasing teenagers but at Baptista supermarket just 10 minutes away....they sell 'familiar' foods from frozen chips, Heinz Tomato Ketchup to Coco Pops

Een prima huisje, met alles erop en eraan. Prachtig zwembad. Algarve is natuurlijk wel erg "Engels"..maar dat is voor ons geen probleem. Luz is een aardig dorp met een aantal leuke restaurantjes, maar verder niet veel te doen. Lagos is veel leuker met meer actie.
Genoeg strandjes in de omgeving en een prima locatie voor zon, zee en rust.

A spacious town house in the most beautiful exclusive setting of only 26 houses. Everything you need in the apartment makes this home from home.I particularly enjoyed the balcony off the main bedroom, overlooking the area, palm trees and sea, and the third floor terrace dining area. The two shower rooms were very useful when we all wanted to get out in a hurry. The boys (aged 12) loved watching SKY TV when it got too hot. We all loved the wonderful pool area. And the whole complex is calm and quiet with never more than a handful of people in the pool area. Location - excellent- outskirts of town, yet a healthy stroll to the shops / beach. We will be back!

Had a fabulous time! home from home..every need catered for and very family friendly..immaculately clean and communication with owners great, very friendly and informative which made our stay easier ..went out of their way to provide us with info and tips to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, even providing advivce on local car hire etc.
Lovely little town, peaceful little get away...perfect. Would definately return..

19 Vila Serena for fun and relaxation!!

Our first trip to Portugal and the Algarve and it won't be our last! Loved the place, the villa and the ambience.

Just like 5 fruit a day it makes you feel better and healthier! The house is comfortable, clean and convenient for the superb pool and the great Chinese Restaurant on the complex. You can relax in your own little garden or by the pool (I read 5 books so you can see how relaxed I was!).

It's peace and quiet without isolation - the front is 10 mins walk and is lively without being too much. Lots of good restaurants - the best being Valentinos near the front - good value and great service.

The surrounding attractions if you have a car are superb - Bergau, Alvor, Monchique, Sagres and Silves to name a few. There's markets for all tastes in Lagos and water parks for the kids.

A great holiday for total relaxation and fun. Definitely want to go again - maybe next winter, Steph?!
