Praia Da Luz: This delightful village overlooks a pretty & sheltered bay, which has a very safe sandy beach & amazing rock formations. It is well supplied with restaurants and beach bars and there are some excellent cliff walks to neighbouring villages and beaches. The number of villas in the Luz area has increased considerably over the last few years, they are of a high quality and low density and have resulted in the facilities in the village being improved to match. There are water sports schools, and a Scuba Diving Centre, The Fishing Port of Lagos. The medieval walled town sits on a hillside overlooking the harbour & an impressive marina, the wide bay of golden sand, its picturesque cobbled streets & selection of markets mingled in with modern shops make it a must to visit. Numerous restaurants, street cafes together with night time street entertainers, lively bars and discos add to the charm. For those wanting culture art galleries, ancient monuments and museums are also nearby.

Notes: The Villa was completed at the end of November 2005. The Villa is our Portuguese home and is furnished as such. Extensive outdoor facilities encourage outdoor eating with covered patios and private enclosed pool and gardens. The fourth Bedroom has bunk beds with double below and single bed above. First floor lounge is equipped with a good quality double sofa bed. Property layout is ideal for two families of four to share. Guests are requested not to smoke within the villa but ash trays will be provided for use on the terraces. There are two restaurants and bars within 5 mins walk of the villa. The cliff top and associated walks are a 10 min amble, with the beautiful safe sandy cove of Prai De Luz 25 minwalk away. Bus stop within 5 min walk. Historic fishing port, marina and extensive shops 15 min drive. Cape St Vincent, the end of Europe is 30 min drive away.

Stunning Villa situated in a beautiful position.

We have spent our last two summer holidays at Casas De Sonhos and we are going again this August. Normally we like to go somewhere different each year but because the villa is so special we have been unable to prize ourselves away.
The villa itself is built to a very high specification with everything you could want. It is very clean and well maintained and the maids, gardeners and pool cleaner keep everything working smoothly. The garden is well kept and encompasses the showpiece swimming pool. This is kept well chlorinated and clean and we like to have it heated.
We have found it important to have transport while we are there, and the village of Praia Da Luz is only a few minutes drive away. Praia Da Luz has a lovely beach and a good range of restaurants. Lagos is well worth a visit and we have really enjoyed the small fishing village of Burgau with its quaint pubs and restaurants.
We have found Casas De Sonhos to be a wonderful venue for our summer holidays and we would highly recommend it to others.

Holiday in September 2009 for 3 weeks

This villa far exceeded our expectations as the website photos do not do it justice. The kitchen was the most well equip we have ever come across and we have had villa holidays for the past 14 years. It had everything, other than a garlic press which we did mean to purchase (sorry). The pool and villa were well looked after and clean. The gardeners, cleaners and pool staff were very efficient, plus polite and pleasant. Any minor problems were dealt with very quickly and we would and already have recommended this villa to friends.

If you did have to find a drawback it was that you did need to drive to the town of Luz, although this did not concern us.

The beaches on the west coast were amazing and just like Cornwall, but with sun! Well worth the 20 minute drive.

Anyone booking this villa we guarantee would not be disappointed.

Thanks Nick and Janet for sharing your dream home. We hope to return.

Lovely villa in idyllic Luz

A belated review (We stayed mid-July), but we enjoyed things so much at the villa that we felt it would be a shame not to thank Nick by jotting down our thoughts.

We spent a lovely relaxing fortnight with our family in this very clean, spacious and well equipped villa. We very much enjoyed the villa which was situated in a very quiet cul-de-sac outside of Luz - ideal for our purposes. A car is a must as it is a little too far out of Luz to walk, but we always consider a car essential for any self-catering villa holiday. Would have no hesitation reccomending the villa to anyone and for those who have not been to Luz I would say that it is our favourite place on the Algarve.

Weather was amazing, although could be windy at times (a benefit to cool you down a little during the day). It could also be a little chilly in the evening, forcing us to eat indoors, although we still mad good use of the BBQ.

Would we go again to the villa - without a doubt!!! Shame that we will have to wait now until next year. The only thing that I would add is that we have previously been spoilt by being able to go to Luz in low season and definitely prefer it at that time when the gorgeous beach and town is quiet.

Lovely villa, well situated, excellent pool all in all we had a brilliant holiday. On the downside the TV reception was erratic and I would not consider it to be a wide-screen.
Mobile air-con not very effective.
It would have been nice to have dishcloths available.
These negatives did not spoil our holiday and we think the villa is even better than the photos would suggest
Owner's Response: Thanks for the positive feedback, Televison reception after investigation is being affected by growing trees. Trees now trimmed and satalite dish is to be re positioned on the roof.
Villa managment asked to make sure the dishcloths are left available

Fantastic villa for a family holiday

The Villa was perfect for our family holiday, with plenty of room for for everyone to have their own space. The pool was great, keeping the children occupied for hours. The Villa itself is in a perfect location just up from the town of Luz so you get some great views but it's only a short walk to town. Its kept in superb condition and a BBQ by the ppol with some locally caught fish is a must. Thanks to Nick for helping with the car hire too.
