Location:
The property is an end-of block duplex town house completed in 1993, about 3km by car from the centre of Lagos (or 2km if walking through the Marina) and about 88 km West of Faro airport, almost all motorway.
It stands in front of one of the Algarve’s finest beaches, with around 4km of fine sand which is never crowded and various water-sport sites on the beach, as well as beach restaurants. Lagos is a very pleasant town to walk around, with an excellent variety of restaurants, boat excursions including a semi-submersible which tours the caves beneath the lighthouse just to the West of town.
Exploring:
The western Algarve is less intensely developed than the eastern part and rewards exploration down what at times become un-paved roads. Most beaches are relatively small, bounded by rocks or cliffs (Meia Praia is an exception to the rule).
An excursion or two into the hills of Sierra de Monchique is highly recommended, offering splendid views to both South and West coasts and a circuit can be done to return by the West coast, which itself is something completely different, with vast expanses of beach open to the Atlantic rollers and hardly any people. Excellent for beach games and walking. Again, this requires research and exploration to discover the accesses. At the bottom of the West coast, or nearly 30km west of Lagos, is Cape St Vincent – the most westerly point of Europe, with views of sometimes very rough seas from the top of the cliffs.
Accommodation:
The house is laid out with the living area upstairs, comprising living room (7.50m x 5.10m) with marble floor, wood-burning stove and satellite TV, dining area for 6, kitchen with gas cooker, fridge/freezer and automatic washing machine, and a terrace with unobstructed sea views.
The communal pool,is in front but a few metres to the side of the house and has an adjacent snack bar. A staircase leads down to the bedrooms, comprising one doubl and two twin rooms, the main one with bathroom en suite (full bath with shower) and a sea-facing terrace. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom (full bath with shower) and there is an under-stairs cupboard for storage. All bedrooms have built-in wardrobes. There is private parking immediately outside the door to the property.A good supermarket is 2km away, on the way into Lagos. The Algarve abounds in golf courses and the Palmares course lies about a mile from the house.
