This spacious 2 bedroom townhouse has the master bedroom on the ground floor with a double bed & en-suite bathroom with shower. The second bedroom, on the first floor, has 2 single beds with a shower room next door. The first floor also comprises of a large lounge area with dining facilities, a living area with TV, DVD, stereo & living flame gas fire (& sofa bed). There is a modern, well-equipped kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, oven & hob. There are 3 large sun terraces, the ground floor terrace, which is accessed from the master bedroom, opens onto the pool & garden area. The house is a short walk to the heart of Praia da Luz & a 10 minute drive to the historical town of Lagos. Both offer sandy beaches & excellent bars, restaurants, shops and cafes. Golfing enthusiasts can take advantage of the Parque de Floresta & the Boavista Golf Resorts only 3-4 kms away. It is approximately a 6 minute walk to the local supermarket & a further 3 minutes to the beach.

The townhouse is situated approximately a 6 minute walk to the local supermarket in the centre of Luz, and a further 3 minute walk to the beach. Local transport such as taxis and buses are easy and convenient to use. Praia da Luz is the first of a trio of fishing villages, which attract visitors who like a relaxed, low-key holiday environment. There are fine beaches and plenty of peaceful, natural beauty along this spectacular stretch of coastline. For walking enthusiasts the next fishing of Burgau can be reached via a scenic coastal path within one and a quarter of an hour's walk. The village of Luz has all the necessary amenities i.e. post office, bank, variety of restaurants, bars, cinema. The coast from Lagos down to Praia da Luz has a fantastic lacy rock formation and sea caves in the cliffs, which are very attractive, most of them can only be reached by boat. The main town of Lagos, approximately 6 km from Praia da Luz, has a historical background dating from the 15th century.

Further details for the house in Praia da Luz

Getting around The nearest airport is Faro which is just a 50 minute drive down the A22 motorway. If you plan to hire a car (recommended if you plan to do a lot of sight-seeing and/or golfing), you will find many car hire firms at the airport. Alternatively, a taxi will cost around £50 each way, or if you prebook with a company (such as Resorthoppa) you can get a private transfer for about £40 per person return. Once in Luz everything you need is within walking distance, but if you wish to travel around and see some of the other spectacular sights in the Algarve, there is a regular bus service and a taxi stand situated 100m away from the apartment.

Places to Visit

Luz is the ideal place from which to explore the Western Algarve, and beyond, as the new A22 motorway makes the whole of the Algarve easily accessible. Lagos has lovely boutiques and restaurants, plus dolphin watching, grotto trips and surfing excursions available at the marina. The beautiful rolling hills and spring in Monchique are definitely worth a visit, and so is Foia, the highest point in the Algarve, with spectacular views all the way to the sea! There is also a historic fortress at Cape St Vincent, the well renowned beach of Praia da Rocha, three huge waterparks (the nearest in Lagoa) and the Algarves very own party capital - Albufeira, all within a 30 minute drive. Plus much much more!

Golf Information:

Golfers flock to the Algarve all year round due to the mild winter climate, spectacular scenery and the manicured fairways and greens of many world class courses. None of the present courses are more than 15km away from the coast but vary greatly from the steep hillsides at Parque de Floresta to the flat terrain of Salgados, so whatever course you are looking for, the Algarve is sure to have it! Here is a brief summary of the courses nearest to Luz: *BOAVISTA - 5 minutes drive, par 71, handicap card required, views of Atlantic ocean and hills of Monchique. *PALMARES - 10 minutes drive, par 71, gentle slopes above an extensive beach. *PARQUE DE FLORESTA - 15 minutes drive, par 72, rolling, hilly terrain. *PENINA - 20 minutes drive, par 73, handicap card required, leafy with large water hazards.
