Porto dona Maria offers a Golf academy & driving range (spring 2007). Boavista Golf, the impressive 18 Hole Championship golf course, with spectacular scenery boasts delightful views of Lagos bay and the Monchique Mountains, is only 3-4Km east. Parque da Floresta (PDF) 18 Hole Championship golf course, with breathtaking views over the rolling hills of the West Algarve national park conservation area, is only 3-4Km west.
Eating in or Out:
From a self-catering point of view, the townhouse provides all you could need to enjoy a completely relaxing break, taking in the breathtaking views and varied colours of dawn or dusk. The Algarve, however, is also renowned for its good food, particularly fresh fish and seafood. From beachside restaurants in Praia da Luz, to several top quality restaurants in/around Bergau. Or try the lovely old town of Lagos with its beautiful marina and restaurants, excellent shopping and a more vibrant nightlife for those who want it.
How to get there::
Fly to Faro. You can pre-arrange car hire for collection at and return to the airport (Hertz number available on request); the journey to Lagos is simple, by motorway - now complete to Lagos(50min drive). Alternatively you can take a taxi (approx. £50 each way) or, more economically, train from Faro to Lagos (£5) and a short taxi ride to Porto dona Maria. Alternatively, fly to Lisbon. Lisbon to Porto dona Maria is about 3 hours drive time (door to door).
