  • 1) £50 per week reduction when only 2 people stay (applies Jun-Sept). £100 supplement charged in addition to printed costs for more than 5 people staying. 2) Returnable deposit will be required to cover breakages. 3) 25% Non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your reservation. Balance to be paid 8 weeks before arrival. Cancellation charges: i) More than 8 weeks prior to arrival - no charge. ii) 4-8 weeks prior to arrival - 50% of total rental rate. iii) 2-4 weeks prior to arrival - 75% of total rental rate. iv) Less than 2 weeks prior to arrival - 100% of total rental rate.

Notes: Porto dona Maria has a reception, and 24 hour security. The townhouse can sleep comfortably 6-8 in the 2 double and large twin room, with an additional sofa bed in the living area. (Supplement for more than 6 people (£100) You can phone reception from the house, to book taxis, for instance. On request, there can be a food parcel on arrival. There is a restaurant next to the reception called L'Escargot which is open 7.30p.m until 11.30p.m. closed on Wednesdays. Dress code is smart casual (no shorts) booking advisable. Burgau Sports Centre: caters for children’s sports. Tennis is available every Wednesday and school holidays. Group coaching is around 4,50 euros per child. Other sports include: football, hockey, touch rugby, running races, swimming races, diving competitions, baseball and rounders which are around 7,50 euros per child for 4 hours. Golf: Porto dona Maria offers a Golf academy & driving range (spring 2007). Boavista Golf, the impressive 18 Hole Championship golf course, with spectacular scenery boasts delightful views of Lagos bay and the Monchique Mountains, is only 3-4Km east. Parque da Floresta (PDF) 18 Hole Championship golf course, with breathtaking views over the rolling hills of the West Algarve national park conservation area, is only 3-4Km west.

Eating in or Out: From a self-catering point of view, the townhouse provides all you could need to enjoy a completely relaxing break, taking in the breathtaking views and varied colours of dawn or dusk. The Algarve, however, is also renowned for its good food, particularly fresh fish and seafood. From beachside restaurants in Praia da Luz, to several top quality restaurants in/around Bergau. Or try the lovely old town of Lagos with its beautiful marina and restaurants, excellent shopping and a more vibrant nightlife for those who want it.

How to get there:: Fly to Faro. You can pre-arrange car hire for collection at and return to the airport (Hertz number available on request); the journey to Lagos is simple, by motorway - now complete to Lagos(50min drive). Alternatively you can take a taxi (approx. £50 each way) or, more economically, train from Faro to Lagos (£5) and a short taxi ride to Porto dona Maria. Alternatively, fly to Lisbon. Lisbon to Porto dona Maria is about 3 hours drive time (door to door).

I know that by writing this review I'll be regreting it just because of the fact that I wouldn't mind keeping the information about this fantastic house just for myself!

What can I say... This house is just 5 stars! It is located in one of the most luxury zones of Praia da Luz, it has a big pool with great conditions and seaview.

The first impression you get from the house is the wonderful view (I took about 500 pictures of it). It has a great terrace and all the rooms are very lighted. It is also wonderful to see the moonlight shinning in the sea from the house!

All the divisions are very spacious so it is very good for big groups or a family with many children! The kitchen has all the material you might need to do great cookings and the living room is wonderful to see some TV or play some games

If you have a car, the beach is just 10min away, just great!

I won't say anything more. The pictures speak for themselves but they don't do justice to the house. I'll assure you that spending a week there is even better than what you see.

If it is possible, I'll definitely be back!

Had a wonderful and relaxing holiday, Villa was 1st class, very large, very comfortable and with that great view from all the bedroom windows and the patio. The pool is enormous, much bigger than it looks in the pictures, but boy is it cold, not really a problem though as the weather was hot in late August, we didn't see a single cloud for 7 days.

Recommended.
Recommended for:  Romantic Getaway, Age 55+, Sightseeing

A perfect place for relaxing holidays

We spent 2 weeks at this large, comfortable and beautifully located villa. There was something for everyone in the party - our 65+ parents loved their morning walks along the ocean, my husband enjoyed the large swimming pool, I could just relax and enjoy the 7th month of my pregnancy. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the ocean with food and drinks or just reading books was everybody's favourite pastime.
The location is very convenient - quiet, but close to Luz with its shops and restaurants and the beach.
The property was clean, well-maintained and fully equipped, people at the reception were super friendly and helpful.
We made a couple of short and long trips. We can definitely recommend Sagres and Lagos, but also Obidos and Seville (Spain) unless someone minds a long drive.
Overall, a fantastic place for young and old people, for relaxing and for sightseeing. The owners are extremely nice and helpful, I could see they really wanted us to feel at home there - and we surely did.

Just returned from a fabulous holiday here. Accomodation is first class, very spacious and airy, cool enough to escape the heat but lovely and light with fantastic views onto the gorgeous pool and ocean beyond. High spec house with good size bedrooms, each with lovely modern en suites including large showers and one with bath. Whole house beautifully tiled in light modern tiles. Great size terrace, eat and sunbathe looking out to sea. If you are looking for excellent standard accomodation in a quiet location with great pool and short drive to beautiful beaches and towns/villages with great restaurants, then look know further. We would recommend this accomodation 100%.

Just got back from a fabulous stay at Ian and Judith's villa.
The accommodation was first class and my friends were very impressed with the facilities on offer. All the rooms were nice and had lovely bathrooms.

The weather was a bit too windy to sit out and enjoy the veranda at night but we still managed to have a bbq.

The view is breathtaking and one that we never tired of seeing, especially the early morning sunrises over the ocean and the moon each night.

The complex was quiet in march and it was a bit chilly to use the pool but we were here for the ocean anyway so it didn't matter!

The weather blows over very quickly here - you might get some rain one minute but within an hour it's back to blue sky.

The villa is located outside of the main town so we normally drove in to find restaurants or caught a taxi.
We can highly recommend the restaurant in the old fort, just down from the Bull pub and church - one of the best meals we had and there are some lovely fish restaurants on the seafront.

It's in a nice spot if you're planning surf trips as Zavial is close by and it's only 15-20 minutes from Sagres and the north coast.

We'd definitely recommend staying here and hope to be back one day.
