Casa Vida Nova has recently been completely renovated - it could be considered a new house. It is very well specified, equipped and furnished. The accommodation is ideal for 4 adults and 2 children as it has 3 bedrooms; one with a king sized bed, one with twin beds and one with bunk beds. There are 3 bathrooms. The house is air conditioned, and there is wood burning fire in the sitting room. It is located in the quiet village of Espiche, and is only 1km from the beautiful beach at Praia da Luz. There are several golf courses nearby, and the historic town of Lagos is only 3km away. From the roof terrace, which has 4 sunbeds, you can see the Monchique mountains. There is a private courtyard with lemon and orange trees, which is a sheltered sun-trap. The house is on a single level to is suitable for elderly guests. There are village shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. The satellite TV receives all the main UK freeview channels, including BBC 1,2, ITV and C4 and 5.

The village of Espiche is about 1km from the resort of Praia da Luz. Espiche has several small shops/stores, a daily fish market, a bakery, several bars and restaurants within easy walking distance from the house. It is a typical sleepy Portuguese village with lots of narrow streets and walkways. Praia da Luz on the other hand is a bustling small town during the summer season, which overlooks a pretty sheltered bay, and has a very safe sandy beach and some amazing rock formations. Luz is well supplied with restaurants and beach bars, and there are some excellent clifftop walks to the neighbouring villages. There is a water sports school, and a scuba diving centre. Whilst Luz beach can get busy in the summer, there are lots of quiet beaches within a few miles along the coast heading west. After a day on the beach, come back to relax in this cool air conditioned house or enjoy the sunset from the roof terrace; then you can relax by watching your favourite UK TV programme!

  • 25% Deposit is required on booking. The balance is required 4 weeks prior to arrival.
    A returnable breakages deposit of £100 is required. This will be returned within 1 week of departure, as long as there has been no damage or breakages.
    Payment should be by personal cheque or bank transfer. Euro payments are accepted (at current exchange rate)
    Please note that for Low Season rentals, there will be a locally charged fuel supplement of 25 euros per week as a contribution towards the electricity costs, as the air conditioning heater units are expensive to run. Logs for the fire will be at guests' expense.
    Casa Vida Nova is a non-smoking house. Smoking should be restricted to the roof terrace.

  • The master bedroom has a king sized bed, There is an en-suite bathroom, with bath, shower, bidet, toilet and wash basin. There is a walk-in wardrobe. The room is air conditioned, and there are patio doors onto the courtyard. There are electric roller shutters. The twin bedroom as 2 single beds. It is next door to the family bathroom. There are built in wardrobes. The bedroom is air conditioned and the window has electric roller shutters. The bunk bedroom has bunk beds! They are adult sized, but we prefer them to be used by children. There are electric roller shutters on the window, and there is a small en-suite bathroom with toilet and hand basin. All beds, duvets, pillows, sheets etc (and all the furniture in the house!) were purchased new in June 2007.

Notes: The maid service (Maria, who lives locally) is twice a week. Children are welcome in the house, but must be fully supervised by a responsible adult if they are on the roof terrace. The trees and flower beds in the courtyard have an automatic irrigation system. The air conditioning units also work as heaters and dehumidifiers. There is private parking on the driveway at the side of the house. Both gates are lockable, and all windows have electric roller shutters, so the property is secure. All linen and towels are provided, however, we ask you to bring your own beach towels. Our management agents (Luisa and Veronica) have an office in the next village, so if you have any problems or queries, they will quickly sort them out for you, and give you any advice you need.

How to get there:: There are several low cost airlines which fly to Faro, such as Jet2, Thompsonfly, Easyjet, Ryanair, Monarch. The house is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes drive from Faro airport. It is an easy journey, and is quiet motorway almost all the way. We have a discount arrangement with a local car hire company who will meet you at the airport. We will provide details of car hire when we confirm your reservation. Alternatively, there is a train from Faro to Lagos (the nearest large town to the house), or there is an excellent low cost minibus service directly from the airport to the house. We will provide location maps, and detailed directions to find the house from Faro airport. The location is perfect for golfers, as you have 4 good courses within 10 minutes drive from the house.

New, nice and quiet!

The house is a fine place in sunny Portugal. Our son liked the little cats outside the house the most. He also liked the lady of the little bakery and al the friendly people at the market.

We liked the room and the comfort of the house. Sitting in the little garden in the evening. The fresh fish on the bbq and the stars in the sky.

Life is easy.

A really nice house, full of light, and well equipped (the only thing we missed was an electric citrus press to make good use of the abundance of local oranges; no problem! We bought one for a tenner in the Modelo s/market in Lagos). The location is quiet, marked by the dogs sleeping in the middle of the streets, and the views from the roof terrace are far-reaching towards the mountains and the parques eólicos. Night-time turns the terrace into a superb spot for star-gazing.
The house is well situated for road links to explore the whole of the southwest of Portugal as well as being close to beaches and the towns of Luz and Lagos.
Very happy to recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a relaxing time in a safe and secure environment away from the hubbub of tourist centres.
