The Villa has been extensively refurbished and boasts a modern and well fitted kitchen with a wide variety of equipment. The pool area is not overlooked and features attractive night-time lighting. There is a built-in barbeque and a large dining area on the patio which catches the sunshine during the day. One of the double bedrooms, which has an adjacent shower room, is on the ground floor overlooking the pool area. Each of the upstairs bedrooms has its own balcony and all bedrooms have ample wardrobe and drawer space. Bedding and towels (excluding beach towels) are provided and a local cleaner comes in twice a week. There is a cot available if required. A 37' plasma television with SKY satellite reception and a VCR, together with radio and books, are also provided for your entertainment. The dining room seats 8 in comfort. Almádena is a small unspoilt Algarvean village which is surrounded by National Park area. Although it is in the countryside, it is close to the coast with many sandy beaches. Most are secluded and are not packed. It is 5km from Luz and Burgau with historic Lagos 7km away. It is the quieter, less commercial end of the Algarve. Nearby there are numerous golf-courses and riding stables with water and theme parks within easy driving distances. Restaurants, cafes and bars abound.

  • The villa will be cleaned and ready for your arrival but, to make this run smoothly, guests are requested not to arrive before 2 pm at the start of their holiday and to leave by 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.

Holiday in Almadena, Lagos: Almadena is a friendly village with superb but inexpensive restaurants and a small general shop. There is a telephone box in the square that takes credit cards. Buses run from the square to Luz and Lagos where there are cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and all the services you may require. English is widely spoken.

Golf in Almadena: Golfers will enjoy the many fine courses including Boavista, Penina, Palmares and Parque de Floresta (the large golf and sports resort 15 minutes due west of Almadena).

Places to visit: Luz is 10 minutes away by car and its excellent beach has been awarded an EU blue flag. The town has old streets and fishermen's cottages and rewards exploration. Try to find the Roman archaeological remains! Lagos, the main town, has a fine marina with boat hire and watersports. There is a 17th century fortress, Forte de Bandeira, which may be of interest, with the slave market and town gate and remnants of old walls. Cape St Vincent, 'The End of the World', is the most westerly point in Europe. Sagres has a Moorish fort perched on the cliff with dramatic sea views. Silves was the original capital and one of the oldest towns in the Algarve, with Moorish influences in the walled castle within the town.

'Just returned from a lovely two week break in Vivende Abacate. there were 8 of us on this holiday and we all enjoyed the holiday in different ways. The Villa has everything you need to have a perfect holiday, plus it is situated in one of the most beautiful villages with friendly neighbours and a great pubs.
A must to visit is O'Celerio Restaurant located just opp. the main road, walking distance.

There are some beautiful places to visit and the beaches are absolutely lovely.
Will be making a trip next year for sure.

Go and see for yourself.'

Great Family Villa Holiday

Spent 2 weeks of bliss in this great family villa. 2 adults and 2 teenagers all had a fantasticand very relaxing time. During the hot summer months the pool is a great facility. The location is remote enough to be away from it all but close enough to Lagos to enjoy the town's facilities within a short drive - try the dolphin sight seeing sea trip as a must! Local village has great restaurants and all the villagers are very friendly. The restaurants in Lagos are plentiful and sufficiently varied that every taste is catered for. All in all, thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful Holiday villa

We stayed in this villa for a month in June and had a wonderful time, the villa is in a beautiful village and has everything you need for a holiday. It is very clean and well mainained and the village has numerous places to eat and drink all of which are very good. It also has some very good beaches nearby and some wonderful places to visit.
I would certainly recommend this for a relaxing holiday.

Had a lovely 2 weeks at villa in Aug 09. Very spacious villa with everything you need and clean and tidy. I went with family which included my 2 children aged 2 and 5 who really enjoyed using the pool although this did cause some concern as there is no cover on the pool and we were unable to let them outside without constant supervision and although we were outside at one time my 5 year old did fall in! Villa was cleaned by cleaner twice while we were there and pool was maintained also. One thing we did find that dog barking was very noticable and did wake us at night sometimes. Overally we had a lovely time and weather was wonderful
