Additional equipment: Miradouro is extremely well furnished and equipped with telephone, satellite English TV with Sky Family package, CD / Cassette player, hair-dryer, personal safe and paperback library. There are cool air fans for the summer months. There is an experienced management team well able to deal with any local difficulties and all formalities. TOURIST LICENCE It is now the law that all rented properties must have a tourist licence and all health and safety requirements must be installed. Some of these may seem a little silly, i.e. a large sign proclaiming that 'a lifeguard is not on duty' - profoundly disappointing those hoping for a bay watch babe! - however it is most important that this licence be obtained otherwise the property can be closed down whether or not there are guests there.
Lagos: Today the town offer many new attractions. Visit the marina to admire the yachts; stroll along the palm fringed promenade over looking the fishing harbour and the ancient fort jutting out into the sea; the old slave market (now an art gallery) and the church of Santo Antonio with it's regional museum. There are excellent beaches from the 5km stretch of Meia Praia to the most photographed beach on the Algarve at Praia Dona Anna. There are numerous restaurants, cafes and bars to suit all pockets and tastes, clubs that swing until the early hours and all manner of supermarkets and shops. In short, it is a spacious Portuguese town with something for everyone.
Around and About: Visit the Spa at Monchique; the Moorish castle at Silves; Henry the Navigator's fort at Sagres; the pretty fishing villages Burgau and Salemo; Cap St. Vincent, the most South Westerly point of mainland Europe. The dramatic, unspoilt beaches of the Western Algarve are within easy reach, the secret cove of Ingrina; the vaste beach of Castelejo and the surfers beach of Amado to name but a few and for the children, there is Slide and Splash at Lagoa and Zoomarine at Guia. Full details of all local facilities, recommended restaurants etc. sent to all who book the villa.
