Ideally situated on the outskirts of Lagos, this beautifully furnished villa offers the best of both town and country living. It has 4 spacious bedrooms, 3 with air conditioning and patio doors onto sunny verandas looking across the pool and gardens towards the sea. It has 5 bathrooms, a private pool with optional heating and a large, landscaped garden which is not overlooked. A few hundred meters from the excellent Intermarche supermarket and just 20 minutes' walk from the centre of the lively and picturesque 'old town' Lagos with its marina, shops and restaurants, Casa Madeira makes the perfect family holiday home. 1st bedroom (ground floor) Double bed, fitted wardrobe, en suite bathroom; 2nd bedroom: Double bed with fitted wardrobes, en suite bathroom; 3rd bedroom: Twin beds, fitted wardrobes; 4th bedroom: Double bed, dressing room, en suite bathroom. All bedrooms air conditioned except 1st bedroom.

Location: Lagos Town in Portugal

Nearest Airport: Faro at 75 Kilometres
Nearest Train: Lagos at 2 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 1.0 Kilometres

Lagos is a beautiful fishing town on the quieter western end of the Algarve. Casa Madeira is situated on the outskirts of the town close to the many sandy beaches and coves which stretch away from Lagos towards Sagres, the most westerly point of Europe. The centre of Lagos is a 20 minute walk, the nearest beach (Porto de Mos) is about 25 minutes on foot but just five minutes by car. The villas to either side are on large plots of land, as is Casa Madeira, making it private and not overlooked. The property and grounds are well fenced and hedged and very private. Double iron gates lead into a gravel courtyard with ample parking. There are beautifully landscaped gardens at the front and rear, including cactus, palms and lemon trees. The rear garden has plenty of terraced area surrounding the pool and includes a built in brick barbecue. The pool measures 8m x 4m (2m maximum depth). Patios are south facing.

Golf: The closest golf course is the new Boa Vista course, only 5 minutes away by car, a challenging 18 hole course with beautiful views across Lagos, the Atlantic and surrounding countryside. Palmares course with its links holes along Meia Praia beach is also only a few minutes by car.

Perfect and way better than expected

I would recommend this to all famlilies. We were 2 couples with children staying for 1 week and we had the absolute best time ever. The house was way better than the pictures let us hope for, the location perfect, and the turtle living in the garden amused the kids and topped it all :)

Lagos city is small but nice, the beaches around great, and there were activitities as a fantastic zoo for the youngest kids, golf for the guys and a gym for my health fanatic wife.

The supermarket i close by, but we recomend you to rent a car eventhoug you actually do not need one but it is nice to be able to travel a bit and necessary if golf, the zooo, etc...is something you want to visit, Liboa is also only 2 hours away....

We had a pool guy cleaning the pool and some nice ladies came and cleaned the house in the middle of the week. The people that met us there were also extremely nice, thenks collin, and we absolutely enjoyed it.

I would say 2 that this is optimal for 2 couples with kids traveling for 1-3 weeks.

PS: we stayed there in May-June 2009 and the weather was great for our young ones at 10 and 19 month.
