A spacious 3 bedroomed property the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and an ensuite with a shower, the other two bedrooms are twin bedrooms. There is a large family bathroom with a shower, bath, toilet, bidet and twin wash hand basins. The downstairs has an extremely well equipped kitchen/diner and a large sitting room with a living flame gas fire, English satellite, Playstation2 and Video player. The gardens consist of a large sun terrace and calcada/gardens to the front and a lawn/gardens and private fenced pool (6m x 4M) to the rear. The pool is unheated and can be used April - October. It is within a short walk to the heart of Praia da Luz and a ten-minute drive to the historic town of Lagos that has its own marina. Both offer sandy beaches, many excellent restaurants, cafes and shops. Golfing enthusiasts can take advantage of the Parque de Floresta and the Boavista Golf Resorts only 3-4 km distance.

Situated in the west of the Algarve, Praia da Luz is a quaint village/ town in a very desirable area. The property is located in a very select and smart complex within enclosed private gardens with a stunning pool. The villa has ample car parking for two or more cars with the advantage of more parking for friends and visitors if required. The heart of the town area and the beautiful beach and the sea front is only a short walk away. The town has a wealth of restaurants and little quaint pubs and cafés serving excellent cuisine. Villa Serena is situated within a very short distance of a Chinese restaurant and a Hotel; The Hotel offers Gym facilities, sauna and restaurant.

Luxury villa with private pool

Have just returned from a week at this villa and cannot recommend it highly enough. The villa was like a home from home and very well equipped, with everything you could need (right down to salt and pepper!).
The location was perfect for us - the walk down into the centre of Luz wasn't too far if we didn't want to drive. The Chinese restaurant (a stones throw from the villa), was excellent - very reasonable and the lovely young lady would greet us with a lovely smile and made us feel very welcome.
Would recommend a trip to Salema (paradise!) and Alvor (lovely cobbled streets and a great choice of restaurants - our personal favourite was The Captains Table).
In all, I would say that this is a perfect villa in a perfect location.
Go on, book it!!

Excellent Family Villa

Perfect villa for all the family. The gated pool was ideal for our 2 kids (2+4) and gave great peace of mind. Villa contained all the comforts of home. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to go back again.

I have been here for 4 weeks, I find the villa to be very central and has a good public transport service both east and west.
The villa very spacious and well apointed.
With good very facilities alround.
The owner is to be congratulated on the way the villa is presented.
The village of Luz has plenty of restaurants most of which offer take away food and at reasonable prices.There are other shops which will all cater for all basic requiements.
I hope to return next year as the villa is a very good base to explore the area.

Lovely house

We enjoyed our stay at this house very much. The PS2, satellite TV and ADSL connection were much appreciated by the kids. The pool was enjoyed by everyone, and it has a gate so we could stop the kids falling into it when we weren't watching them.

The walk to the beach & village centre is about 10 minutes with our two little kids, and is up a long hill on the way back (all Praia da Luz is built on a hill), so may not be suitable for elderly or infirm unless you hire a car, but our kids manage it without any hassle.

There was a bus into Lagos (the nearest town) from the village centre, but we hired a car from one of the car rental places in the village so we could visit the surrounding area, especially the spectacular west coast.

There are lots of restaurants in the village, but in the peak of summer you will need to book earlier in the day as Praia da Luz can get very busy in the summer. We especially liked the Atlantico restaurant near the church.

I'm not sure what the previous reviewer meant about the 'cement works'(?) There's a row of new houses across the road at the back, so maybe they were being built at that time, but they seem to be finished now, and we didn't notice any lorries on the road at the back during our visit.

I'd strongly recommend this house to anyone, unless you are infirm and don't hire a car.

Excellent holiday place

we have been 3 times to this villa and it is amaszing. we love the fact that it is a short walk to the beach but far enough away from the hustle of other holiday makers and it is so peaceful. the restraunts are great but you may need to book in the height of season however we never have we have just got there a bit earlier around 7pm and have always been seated straight away.the fish is cooked beautifully and i just love the seabass. there is a chinease 2 minutes from the villa or you can go along the sea front and find about 15 other restraunts or you may want to take a trip into lagos a 10 minute drive where there is so many places to eat you will find it hard to decide.
The pool at the villa is fantastic and just right for all ages. The villa it'self is beautiful and comes with everything you need for a wonderful holiday eg bbq, washer/dryer a wealth of cooking utensills if needed and an amazing libary of books for those days when you need to do nothing! whilst there is a main road behind the villa it is not like a main road in the uk and as i live in the country i was surprised to find it so quite but then that is the attraction of Luz.
i would recomend hiring a car so that you can explore all the amazing places that the algarve has to offer and to go up into the mountians to enjoy the portugese way of life.
the beach at luz is the best i have ever been to and my young daughter who was 4 when we first went, managed the walk with only a few fun piggyback rides. my elderly grandfather who was 84 when he went also manged very well.
My only problem with writing this review and praising it so much is that i may never be able to get booked in again. i am totally in love with the place and it feels like a second home. the owners have made it like that so that it is totally comfortable and the villa can suit everyones needds
