This compact but well equipped villa with its own (10mx5m) pool offers privacy but is close to all of the amenities available in both Luz and Lagos, 2 minutes drive from the N125 or the centre of Luz and 10 minutes from the vibrant nightlife that can be found in Lagos. This property nestles on the hillside behind the hustle and bustle of Luz amongst several recently built exclusive villas. It is ideally situated for the beach, golf and other sports and outdoor activities that are available in the locality and of course the wonderful Algarve countryside and its neighbouring resorts and places of interest. It is ideal for young families where children can play in a secure garden that boasts orange and lemon trees as well as the outdoor pool. The villa has recently been granted the Portuguese tourist licence which guarantees the standard of accommodation as described.

Luz is a busy and popular holiday resort 10 minutes by car from the medieval walled town and port of Lagos. Luz is a family favourite with its expansive safe sandy beach, an abundance of water sports and activities plus numerous restaurants and bars scattered throughout the village. Luz is an ideal base to explore the Algarve. Go west and you arrive at the most south westerly point of Europe, north west is Vila do Bispo and the Atlantic west coast, north lies the forest, north east the mountain village of Monchique and the hot mineral baths of Caldas de Monchique, east takes you to Lagos and then to Portimao, both offering excellent shopping and sightseeing, with plenty of night life and entertainment for those of a more energetic inclination. There are four top quality golf courses within 10 minutes' drive, a Zoo close by and the water parks 'Slide and Splash' and 'Aqualand' only 30 minutes away. Whatever the season, you will find plenty to do in the surrounding area.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A deposit of £50 to cover any breakages will be payable as a separate cheque which will be returned within 14 days of the end of the holiday when the management company have confirmed that no mishaps have occurred. A £100 per week or part thereof non-returnable deposit is required to secure a booking with the remainder of the fee payable 6 weeks prior to the start of the holiday plus the breakage deposit.
  • In winter logs for the wood burning fire can be provided at an extra cost of 25 Euros per week payable locally.

Notes: All of the living accommodation is on one level. The south facing terrace has steps leading down to the garden and the swimming pool which was completely rebuilt in 2008 to provide plenty of poolside terracing to allow for sunbathing in a secluded garden area. Clients must provide their own beach towels but all other household linen is provided. Picnic set and cool box provided in addition to sun umbrellas for the terrace, pool side and beach. The kitchen was totally restyled and refurbished in 2006. The bathrooms and master bedroom were refurbished in 2007. The south facing spacious lounge/dining room boasts a log burning fire for cosy winters' evenings. There are also some popular games (cards, chess/draughts, Boggle, battleships) for young and old alike to play in quieter moments. A new perimeter wall was built at the front of the villa to improve its privacy and security in 2009.

Exterior renovations: Following the pool renovation in 2008, the garden has now had an irrigation system installed and the lawn has been re-seeded. The garden planting is on-going. In 2009 we have built a new perimeter wall improving the privacy when sitting out on the terrace and the cul de sac has been re-surfaced by the camara. All of the properties in this quiet location are individually designed and several are permanently occupied by their owners contributing to the friendliness and tranquillity of the surroundings.

This was our second holiday at vila sol and again it was superb! The new pool was great the kids thought it was brilliant. Luz is a lovely place and I would holiday there all the time. The villa is always clean and well presented. The only disappointment is that it is booked up in august for next year so we will not be able to book it. Never mind will try for 2011.

This was our second holiday at Villa Sol and it was even better than the first. The new pool is a tremendos addition and the views are great. The villa itself is very well equiped, always spotlessly clean on arrival and a pleasure to stay in.

The local area is an excellent mix between the lively atmosphere in Lagos and the quieter village of Luz. There are numerous good restaurants in the area, our favorite is the Dolphin in Luz. No Patio in Lagos is also excellent.

There are three local golf courses and our favorite is Boavista which is less than 10 minutes away.
Owner's Response: All part of the service Nick. I agree with your choice of restaurants. You could eat in a different one every night of a 2 week holiday and not be disappointed.

This was our second visit to Villa Sol which lived up to our previous memories. The new pool is fantastic and ideal for relaxing in and around after a busy day touring.
The villa as before was clean and well equipped with easy access to the village.

Fantastic! really enjoyed the stay. Very accurate description of the villa, looking at the pictures featured we can just imagine ourselves sat back on the terrace with a cold beer!
Even on the colder days, the log fire made it really cosy inside.
Enjoyed the walks down to the village for some great grub and entertainment.
