Beautiful private villa with swimming pool, situated in new residential area overlooking estuary and beach at the eastern side of Meia Praia. The villa with its eclectic/modern decor designed & decorated by international interior designer, is laid out on three levels. Steps from entrance hall lead into beautifully furnished lounge/dining area and open-plan kitchen. Doors lead out to a shaded terrace with dining area & BBQ which overlook swimming pool. Stairs lead up to master double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, which has its own private terrace with fantastic sea-view. Two bedrooms on lower level have access to swimming pool terrace.

Main shopping town: The nearest shopping town to Vale da Lama is Lagos, a very picturesque town with its narrow cobbled streets & attractive main avenue. Lagos was an important seaport town in the 16th Century and still is an important fishing & tourist centre. There are lots of beaches with fine golden sand & a boat trip to the grottoes is a must. There is a new Marina with shops, restaurants & cafes not far from the town centre, there is plenty of nightlife with open air concerts & exhibitions.

This was a step up from our normal 2 weeks in a caravan in Cornwall holiday. The villa was very clean and well-maintained and the small problems we had were quickly and efficiently put right by the agents. It is very well furnished and situated a little off the beaten track (15 minutes into the middle of Lagos). It has a great pool and that, combined with such comfortable furnishings, meant we did not want to stray far. Everyone involved in maintaining the villa (maid, gardeners, pool-man and odd-job man) were very friendly.

We are just back from 2 weeks spent at this 3-bedroom villa in Vale de Lama, which is in a quiet residential area overlooking the Alvor Estuary and the sea towards Meia Praia Beach - a short 3 min. car ride from the villa.

The large pool, landscaped gardens and outdoor dining area were immaculately maintained and very peaceful, with just enough shade and sun to please all. You don't need air-conditioning despite the heat as there is always a lovely Atlantic breeze and all doors have fly screens which mean you can leave them open and not be pestered by flies or mosquitoes during the day/night. We enjoyed several barbecues after getting all we needed from the well-stocked local supermarkets (Intermarche/Modelo/Pingo Doce) in Lagos. The facilities both inside and outside the villa couldn't be faulted and we can't wait to go again.

We also really liked Lagos which is a great mix of both modern and traditional where you can enjoy good restaurants, some shopping and other water activities that are on offer around the Marina - something for everyone. In nearby Portimao there is a retail park for more 'international shopping'. All-in-all, we recommend booking this particular property if you want a peaceful, secluded holiday in good quality accommodation near to a lovely town.
