Set in glorious surroundings overlooking the beach,estuary and sea in a private complex of just 50 apartments this brand new (2003) one bedroom apartment will appeal to those who seek a quiet and relaxing base but having the advantage of the numerous top quality bars,shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk . The complex is always immaculately maintained, secure and has a fantastic swimming pool and jacuzzi surrounded by palm trees and manicured gardens and because of its elevated position you get fabulous views overlooking the bay. The apartment has been furnished to the highest possible tastes and is situated on the ground floor with access from the underground car park by lifts. It has air conditioning/heating in the lounge and bedroom, a shower/bath and bidet a fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, washer, dishwasher, cooker oven and microwave. In the lounge are two leather sofas (one is a sofabed) cable tv, dvd and cd player. Sun loungers and tables on patio

The coastal village resort of Alvor retains its charm and tranquillity and yet boasts numerous bars, restaurants and shops ensuring a lively atmosphere in the warm evenings. The beach is just a couple of minutes walk and is rated as one of the best on the Algarve however if you are looking for activities Portimao has jet skis, water skiing and numerous other water sports available. The area is a golfers paradise with the Championship course at Penina, Alto and Gramacho all within a 5-10 minute drive and over 25 top class courses within one hours drive. You could try the jeep safari into the Monchique mountain range or the international marinas at Lagos and Portimao. There are a number of historic places worth a visit including Lagos, Silves and Loule. Also there are water parks and the marine zoo nearby. For those seeking late night action Praia de Rocha is a 5 minute taxi drive (appx 5 euros) and has casinos and lots of bars and discos that stay open till very late.

Notes: The sofa in the lounge turns into a very comfortable double bed. There is a double and single bed in the main bedroom. There is a 32 inch wide-screen television with cable tv and there are around 5 English speaking channels including Sky News, MTV etc and a dvd player with a selection of dvd's. The terrace area is secluded and has a covered are with a nice table and chairs and an open area for private sunbathing and 2 sun loungers, there are 4 sun loungers around the pool area for guests. There is also an iron and ironing board.

We have just returned from an enjoyable holiday in Alvor. The apartment was great- a real home from home with everything we needed, even some welcome drinks! We especially enjoyed sitting on the big balcony with a glass of wine watching people returning from the beach. The apartment was in a fantastic position for the village and beach so we never had far to walk. We found Alvor busier than we'd thought, with a great atmosphere in the evening. We were spoilt for choice with restaurants and found that generally they were good value and cheaper than we were expecting.The boys enjoyed Aqualand and Zoo Marine which were not far away. We found Stephen to be both helpful and friendly and would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to a friend.

What a view! A lovely apartment set on the tranquil harbour. We could sit here for hours watching the sun go down. The interior is furnished to a luxurious standard and the apartment is so close to all of Alvor and its beautiful, sandy beaches. A perfect, relaxing getaway. Highly recommended.
