Alvor holiday apartment in Alvor village: in unspoilt western part of Algarve

This is an excellant apartment perfectly situated on the complex and the location for beach,village centre,bars and restaurants is no more than a ten minute stroll .The apartment has clean, spacious and large rooms, large well equiped kitchen,full length balcony overlooking big pool. Everything went smoothly from pick up at airport to being met at complex, which is a really big help after a days travel.The customer service was also perfect with the owner Peter Evens ringing to make sure everything was ok and offering any information we needed. Alvor itself is a relaxed lovely village with numerous restaurants. We ate at several different places all were really good meals. Eating at the harbour ones seems to be slightly more costly but just as good. We had a good holiday and intend to return soon. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED just book it and enjoy, we did.

We left blustery Eastern Canada looking for a respite from winter, frigid wind, and ice to find ourselves awakening each morning in this spacious apartment to breakfast on the roomy balcony overlooking the peaceful pool.
What were we looking for in accommodation for our fourth trip to Alvor and surrounding area?
Well-kept grounds, beautiful flowers and a great pool that was "open"? - check
Comfortable furniture with room and privacy for ourselves and our guests? - check
A kitchen well-stocked with cutlery, dishes, pots, cooking facilities, etc. (a real rarity in our previous Algarve rentals) ? - check
Proximity to the authenticity of a truly Portugese village and a sandy beach as far as the eye can see? -check
Walking access to a fabulous number of excellent restaurants? -check
A reliable and friendly contact Jose who was familiar with the apt., the complex, and accustomed to tourists'" queries? -check
A safe comfortable "homey" feel to our home away from home for 5 weeks? -check
Reasonable rental rates and cooperative owners ( especially when we lost money on bank charges for the transfer -thanks, Peter)? -check
A place we hope to revisit? Check and Double - Check!
We loved Alvor as always and the location of the Vila da Praia complex.

We reluctantly returned home to rainy Manchester after 2 weeks in the beautiful Algarve.
Right from the start of the holiday we were immediately relaxed and felt welcome. We arrived at Faro to a Welcome text from Peter and then went to meet the Taxi at arrivals.
When we arrived at the apartment we were met by Jose, who welcomed us and took us up to the apartment.
Wow, is all I can say - we never got over how fantastic the apartment was for the whole of the 2 weeks we were in it. Just a real home away from home, everything we could have wished for and more.
Everywhere was clean and tidy, the beds were comfy - our two boys (aged 5 and 8) loved the fact they had their very own en-suite. In fact in a rather boring way I'm sure I could go on for hours about the merits of the apartment and the complex.
The pool was fantastic and a short 5 minute walk got you to the beach if the pool's not your thing. One of the only decisions we had to make every day was pool am and beach pm, and vice versa.
The other tough decision happened each night, which of the numerous restaurants to eat in. Cataplanas became a firm favourite between the four of us. The boys ate clams, mussels, sardines and crab - now we're home they're not getting any where near as much variety.
We will definitely be coming back, and can't wait to settle back in to the relaxed pace of Portugese life we have come to love.
