Ideally located only a 5 minute stroll into the centre of Alvor with its numerous quality bars, restaurants and shops, and a 5 minute walk to the glorious sandy beach. This 2 bedroom apartment in a popular holiday complex with pool, reception, bars and shops has been refurbished for 2007.The apartment consists of 2 double bedrooms, full family bathroom, fully fitted kitchen, lounge/diner with balcony and good views of Lagos and a large roof terrace. The apartment is furnished to a high standard. The lounge/diner has 2 leather sofas one of which is a sofa bed, TV with a selection of English channels, DVD / CD player, dining table to seat 6 people & air conditioning. Airport Transfers can be arranged. Apartment managed by an English couple who live locally.

Alvor is a coastal fishing village with quaint narrow streets that boasts numerous bars, restaurants and shops. The beach is only a few minutes walk and is a superb 3 mile stretch of golden sand and is rated one of the best on the Algarve. The area is a golfer’s paradise with the championship course at Penina just a 10 minute drive, also Alto, Gramacho, Quinta De Morgado & Palamares all within a 15 minute drive. You can drive or go on excursions up into the Monchique Mountains or to the Marinas at Lagos or Portimao where there are plenty of boat trips to choose from. Also there are water parks and the marine zoo nearby. For those wanting to dance the night away Praia de Rocha is a 5 minute taxi ride (5 euros).There are a number of historic places worth a visit including Lagos, Silves & Loule. There are numerous coach tours & jeep safaris available for those not wishing to drive.

My wife, two kids and myself stayed here from 3rd June to 12th June 08. The apartment is clean, bright and spacious and fulfilled all our needs as a family. The washing machine, TV and DVD player along with a selection of films, were a godsend for us with the kids. The general standard of the accommodation is good and really makes a difference when coming in from a day out and being able to relax in comfortable surroundings. The apartment has a perfect position in the complex with it being on a corner on the third floor giving increased views. The balcony looks out over the sea as opposed to the pool and bars therefore being quieter although in saying that the bar in the complex wasn't that noisy. The whole complex is clean and in good condition even though most of the apartments are not privately owned. The complex has a great pool which includes an adult size and childrens pool. The complex also has a few on site bars and eating places one of which is the popular Cactos ll bar which is lively but not too loud which we appreciated what with sleeping kids. The location is perfect if you want to visit the town centre and the beach because it is more or less situated equal distance from both. A casual walk to the town centre takes about five or six minutes and about the same for the beach. The town is full of good restaurants and bars and has a great atmosphere with most places welcoming kids. The beaches are great and are very sandy with all the usual sun beds and shades for hire. The surrounding towns and nearby resorts are very nice and worth a visit but we were always glad to return to Alvor. We will be back! Gerry, Jackie and 2 wee ones.
