Basic but not a luxury

While the apartment was clean and the kitchen well-stocked with utensils and cooking items, the "air conditioned" description was inaccurate. The air conditioning is only in the living room/dining room.The bedrooms had only a floor fan and the windows were not screened to keep out the mosquitos. The remote control for the TV didn't work and the TV (only in the living room) was very small. No DVD player and the only clock or radio in the entire apartment was in the living room. The washer/dryer did not work properly (the dryer didn't work at all), and the drying rack provided on the balcony was rusty, leaving stains on our clothes. Could not run both the washer and the air-conditioner without overloading the electrical breaker. One very tired, thin towel was provided for each person, very inexpensive & thin bed linens, extra pillows but not enough extra pillow slips, no soap or toiletries of any kind, and only one roll of toilet paper for the entire stay. Fine for a basic apartment, but not "luxury" apartment by any stretch. Servicable, value for the money, but didn't live up to the advertised listing. However, the owner and caretaker were very friendly and helpful and the resort is quite nice, with three restaurants and two pools onsite. Economical for families, but not for people used to any extras.
Owner's Response: The apartment is a 'Self Catering' which means it does not come stocked with Toiletries like a Hotel does. The description states it has Air Conditioning which it does. If you had told the management people about the Tv remote and drying rack we would happily of gone and got new ones, instead of now writing a poor review for us. As for the linen this is brought from Hotel suppliers and is of very good quality as its used for the purpose of rental properties. Again if you wanted more bedding you only had to ask and we would happily of provided it. No DVD was even mentioned in the description. I have checked the washing Machine/Dryer and it works fine. The complex actually has 4 swimming pools. Maybe you should stay in Hotels and not apartments where you will get all the extras that you require.
