Clube Albufeira Resort holiday apartment

The apartment was exactly as described and shown on the photos. It was clean and well maintained and any issues were dealt with very efficiently.

The airport transfer offered by the owners costs a little more than you can get by booking locally, but it was worth the extra. We were collected from the airport on time and dropped at the apartment door, and the return journey was just as efficient.

The facilities on site are excellent, the pools and surrounding areas are well maintained. The apartment is located close to three of the four pools. The meal at Cafe Azul, was very good, it had just opened, a meal for 4 with 1 drink tended to be in the region of 60-70 euros. The complex was quiet at night, there is a weekly BBQ at one of the pools, but the music stopped at 11.00 and all was quiet by midnight at the latest. There is a shop on-site and the owner and his wife were extremely helpful.

The complex is a little further out of Albufeira than expected, with a walk along a main road, some parts with no pavements, it is approx 20 minutes to walk to the Old Town, with another 10 minutes for the beach. There is a 1/2 hourly bus to the town for 1.10 euros per person each way from the other side of the road (across a dual carriageway or over a footbridge). A taxi is approx 4 euros, but it can be difficult to get one without a long wait on the return journey. There is a complimentary bus from the complex to the town, but only twice a day. If you want to see further afield a car would be a good idea. You can book trips to local attractions at reception, but you have to pay by cash. There is a bus station in Albufeira, about a 30 minute walk.
