Cabanas is a small pretty fishing village. Central to Cabanas village is an amazing natural lagoon, where you can take a short taxi boat to one of the most beautifully unspoilt beaches in the Algarve. Cabanas village offers an excellent choice of shops, restaurants, bars and typical Portuguese cafes, most of which run along the promenade with great lagoon and sea views. Situated 4 kms from Cabanas is the historic town of town of Tavira with its Moorish castle, riverside shops and restaurants. Within 10 kms, there is an excellent choice of golf courses, beaches and the popular resorts of Manta Rota and Monte Gordo. Further East of Cabanas village you are within 10 kms of the Spanish border and the lovely town of Ayamonte.
