NEW for 2010 – Our Apartment has been granted an Official Rental Licence (Licença de Alojamento Local) a legal requirement in Portugal for rental properties. The apartment has a spacious non-overlooked terrace with stunning romantic sea views, superbly positioned by the waters edge of the Ria Formosa in the unspoilt fishing village of Santa Luzia, 4km west of Tavira. Perfectly located to discover the marvellous world of fauna and flora that lives on the Eastern Algarve coast, a bird watchers paradise. Conveniently next to the promenade with all amenities - restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacy, bank and small shops. The white sandy beaches are safe, gently sloping and can be reached by ferry boat, which you can see sitting from your terrace or a short walk to catch the miniature railway to Barril beach near Pedras del Rei complex which has a swimming pool. There is a built-in BBQ for the evening meal, if you chose, with a glass of fine wine to take in the breathtaking sunsets.

Our Apartment is situated in a superb location, only 8km from Junction 16 of the A22 motorway and enjoys the beautiful tranquillity of the unspoilt Eastern Algarve in the small fishing village of Santa Luzia near Tavira. The beach Islands of the Ria Formosa are renowned for being peaceful, uncrowded, safe, unpolluted and extend for 12 km’s. Santa Luzia beach is 5 minutes by regular ferry boat; you can see it come in from your terrace. Barril beach is 10 minutes walk and has a miniature train, a great adventure for children. There are beach restaurants, café bars and shower facilities. The renting of boats, windsurf boards etc are available. Within 4Km’s Tavira offers a great range of shops and supermarkets (Pingo Doce, Lidle), bars/restaurants abound many specialising in seafood. The beautiful river Gilão runs through the centre of town and on those warm summer nights public entertainment can be found in the park by the river.

  • Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds based on 2 people sharing, add £50 for each additional person per week.
    Changeoer day in High/Peak summer season is Saturday, we are flexible, please ask.
    A deposit of 25% is required on booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to departure, or immediately if booking is made within 8 weeks of departure date.
    A breakages deposit of £100 (payable with your balance) which will be refunded within 5 days of return of the apartment keys to us providing our agent has found everything to be in order after checking the apartment inventory.
    Please bring your own Beach towels.
    Fresh linen and towels are changed on day of arrival, for guests staying for two weeks or more, fresh linen and towels will be available to change weekly.

    Please, Strictly no smoking except on the terraces.

Notes: The fully tiled kitchen has a double sink drainer with good quality worktops and units. There is a washing machine, family size fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, lots of cutlery and cups, glasses etc, and a large selection of cooking utensils, sufficient to prepare a dinner party for 4. One double bedroom with large fitted wardrobes with drawers, patio doors to the south facing front terrace overlooking the Ria Formosa Fully tiled bathroom with shower over bath, W/C, sink, lighted dressing mirror and bidet. The lounge has a 21' colour TV, SKY with DVD player, Mini Hi-Fi system, comfortable 3 seater sofa-bed and one 3 seater settee, with coffee table and sideboard. Our non-overlooked large terrace with 2 reclining chairs for sunbathing, for the evening meal there is a built-in BBQ, a patio table with 4 chairs and parasol, Sit, sip a long cool drink and enjoy the wonderful sunsets.

Local Amenities: The water shoot park in Loule is only 35 Minutes away and is great fun, You can also Swim with the Dolphins at Zoomarine! We have a number of excellent markets nearby (a detailed list will be in the apartment) where you can pick up some real bargains. There is an interesting car-boot near the beach of Fuzeta where you will find some unusual items. Ayamonte, 20 mins (the Spanish border) town has a similar market every Saturday. Tourist resort towns with entertainment, bars, restaurants and casinos only a 10 - 40 minute drive away (depending which town you would like to visit). Finally, For those of you who do not want to just stay on the beach and want to see more of the original Algarve then a circular drive through Moncarapacho, Estói, Olhão and Tavira is well worth doing, with the A22 link this makes a good half day visit.

Golf: Not only has the Algarve the best golfing climate in Europe it also has some of the best courses and facilities. To the West, Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo courses are within 30 mins of the Apartment and Vilamoura a further 15 mins further on. Benamor, Quinta de Cima and the Quinta de Ria are within 10 minutes and Castro Marim a further 15 minutes.

We loved the location of this apartment in the quaint fishing village of Santa Luzia. It is right on the front with great views from the balcony and a wonderful roof terrace. There are several good restaurants along the front, a bakery, fish shops and small supermarkets within a few minutes walk. It is in a good location to explore the eastern algarve.

we stayed at this apartment and found accomadation to be of excellent standard. The views from the large balcony looks straight out to sea with spectacular views of Ria Fornmosa. A great location for anyone wishing to stay in Sta Luzia being very central to restaurants and bars and having a terrific view across the little fishing port and beyond. As regular visitors to the village we have always enjoyed staying in the appartment, in particular we have enjoyed the lovely big terrace where we ate most of our meals.
The appartment is consistently clean and properly maintained and represents excellent value for money.
