Luxury apartment in Tavira - Eastern Algarve
This two bedroom, two bath spacious apartment with roof terrace is located in Tavira Garden, a luxury residential-holiday complex overlooking the shoreline and historic town of Tavira. This summer holiday rental is close to beaches, golf and the Ria Formosa wild-life reserve. The complex was designed an built in 1985 in a Moorish style set out in beautifully kept gardens with lawns and palm trees, and includes two large swimming pools, plus shallow pools for the children, tennis courts sun terraces, bars, and childrens adventure playground. The grounds also include a purpose built health centre with large gymnasium, sauna and Jacuzzi plus the 'Chillings' restaurant offering 'a la carte' dining by the pool. There are also dedicated BBQ areas set up for those who prefer eat outside eating. The atmosphere of Tavira Garden is very quiet and Portuguese and compliments this beautiful region of East Algarve.

The area of Eastern Algarve is still comparatively undeveloped compared with the close neighbors Spain and central Algarve. Subsequently the whole region including the towns of Tavira and Olhao retain a charm that is nowadays rarely found in this part of Europe. If you are looking for bright lights and discos this may not be the right choice of a holiday centre. Within 8km of Tavira Garden can be found four of the best golf courses in east Algarve including Benamor Golf designed by Sir Henry Cotton, Colina Verde - 9 holes, and Quinta de Sima and Quinta da Ria, two courses side by side with views of the ocean and great challenges. For those that prefer being closer to nature the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve,a 60 Ha area of natural park stretching along the coastline from Olhao to Ilha de Tavira. This beautiful nature reserve is partly open to the public with well organized walking tours. Added to this one can appreciate the charm and beauty of the historic town of Tavira.

Notes to the rental rates

At the time of booking a 50% deposit is payable, the balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to departure, bookings made less than six weeks prior to departure will require full payment at time of invoicing.
A £150 refundable deposit will be required with the final payment and can be sent as a separate cheque if preferred. The deposit will be refunded on your return after the keys have been returned and an inspection of the apartment completed.
Welcome packs, cots and highchairs can be provided on request, charges will be made available at the time of booking, and settled locally.
Transfers from Faro airport and local car hire can also be organised by our local management.
Long term Winter lettings (min three weeks) can be negotiated at beneficial rates.

| Notes: | The apartment accessed at ground level through the gardens in a quiet position not far away from one of the pools. Car parking is readily available opposite the front of the apartment The accommodation is our holiday home therefore is more than adequately equipped. The main balcony faces southeast, and above the apartment is a large private roof terrace with which looks out to the sea and is a sun trap all day. You will find a table chairs and parasol on the main balcony, ideal for sunbathing and outside eating. Bed chairs cushions and a large parasol are in addition available for use on the roof terrace, where again table and chairs plus a small BBQ are installed for outside eating. Beach chairs and a few children's toys are available to use on outings to the beach, plus two bicycles which can be used to explore the locality. In addition to all the complex facilities, the lovely beaches can be found just a ferry trip from the centre of Tavira . |
Coast/Beaches
The beautiful Ilha de Tavira beach is accessible by ferry that sales every 30 minutes from the harbour side in Tavira, (25 min walk plus 15 min ferry ride), or you can park your car free in town by the ferry terminal for the day. A second ferry runs from Quatro Aguas pier, where again parking is available. The return fare on the ferry to the beach is one euro. The beaches are kept extremely clean, with excellent beach restaurants serving fresh fish Portuguese style, which is mouth-watering. There are facilities for beach games and water sports, plus beach guards are in attendance. If you would prefer to drive to the beach, head for Manta Rota which is about 15km East of Tavira, where you can park behind the sand dunes and walk through onto the beach.
Shopping and Dining Locally
The local shops and restaurants in the town of Tavira are more than adequate to meet the needs of an Algarve holiday. The large Pingo Doce located this side of the harbour is the local Tesco, in addition the fresh fish and fruit covered market in Tavira is not only an experience but great value for a visit. Much of the centre of the town and harbour area has recently been pedestrianised, with gift shops and open air restaurants spread out along the harbour front and gardens edging the River Gilao. This provides a wonderful back-drop for an evening stroll and supper.
