Golf:
The championship course at Vila Sol comprises 3 loops of 9 holes and has hosted the Portuguese Open twice. The course has won awards for its environmental-friendly design. It has a driving range and putting green with golf pros on hand to provide lessons. A green fee discount is available for up to 4 of our guests at a time. In 2006 Vila Sol was named among the Top 10 best golf resorts in Europe by Golf World magazine. Vila Sol is also within a 15 minute drive of many other magnificent and challenging golf courses in Vilamoura, Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago.

Vila Sol's private beach club at Ancao has sunbeds, water sports, a play area and a restaurant available for guests.
There are numerous restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets close by and in neighbouring towns. The nearest supermarkets can be found in Quarteira, which is but a 15 minute walk away. The Apolonia supermarket in Almancil caters for foreign visitors although there are plenty of other large supermarkets within a 15 minute drive of Vila Sol.
The casino, offering spectacular evening shows, and nightlife of Vilamoura are a 5 minute drive away.
There are lovely public beaches at Quarteira and Vilamoura.
There are opportunities for horse riding, go-karting, and boat trips within a few miles of the resort.
An aqua park is a 3 minute drive from the apartment.
Other attractions:
Boat trips ranging from exploration of the magnificent coastline to deep sea fishing can be taken from Vilamoura and other coastal towns. There is a wonderful nature reserve at Ria Formosa.
There are 2 large retail malls in the Algarve as well as many smaller shops and boutiques for the keen shopper. There are weekly markets in Quarteira and Loule selling local goods, and many towns have fish and vegetable markets.
There is plenty to see and do inland. Wine making tours are available in Lagoa and Guia. Silves castle is well worth a visit, as is the elegant spa town of Caldas de Monchique. Traditional mountain villages like Alte and picturesque coastal resorts such as Carvoeiro and Alvor continue to charm visitors.
Evidence of the Roman and Moorish occupations and the Voyages of Discovery abound, and impressive Cape St Vincent with its towering cliffs and attractive lighthouse marks the south-western tip of Europe.
There truly is something for everyone in the Algarve.
