Apartment in Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal: This is a new development built and furnished to a very high standard. It is situated in a very nice area in Vilamoura known as 'The Old Village'. The property is located beside Pinhal golf course and The Four Seasons, which is very popular with golfers and families alike. Within 'The Old Village' there are some very nice restaurants, snack/bars, supermarket and a very cosy local pub/bar with evening entertainment, most major sports on TV and internet access. It is very close to Europe’s largest Marina with an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops. There are five 18 hole golf courses nearby, two beautiful beaches, various other sports and water sports/parks enjoyed by all ages!! The property comprises of a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, twin bedroom, living room with dining area. There is also a lovely side balcony overlooking the private pool and a staircase leading to a roof garden with lovely views, complete with sun lounger’s.

It is approximately a 15 minute walk to the Marina with its beautiful yachts, restaurants and shops. You will also find the nearby blue flag Falesia beach. There are various water parks and the renowned Zoomarine where you can swim with the dolphins. There are five 18hole championship courses in Vilamoura. In 'The Old Village' there is a wonderful Michelin star restaurant known as 'Willies' which we would HIGHLY recommend for that special occasion. Eating out for ALL tastes (& pockets) are catered for. Likewise, Nightlife accommodates all tastes and ages. Locally there is a top rate fitness centre which can be used on a daily rate! And for anybody into the 'MARKET' scene there is a really good one in the nearby town of Quarteira on Wednesday mornings. A visit to the nearby town of Loule is a must, even if only to ramble the narrow cobbled shopping streets. And for the shoppers, there is ALGARVE SHOPPING, 15km and Portugal’s largest shopping centre, well worth a visit.

All courses can be booked on the Internet or locally.

Special Interest: There are nature reserves in the area popular with bird watchers and at the Marina every water sport is catered for. Ideal for walkers as area completely flat. Bicycles can be hired locally. Good sea fishing from beach, jetty or boat. Excellent super clean beaches. Vilamoura has won all the top awards for Ecology and this is evident from the cleanliness of the whole area.

Beach: The blue flag Falesia beach is within 5 mins drive as is Quertiere beach.

The Old Village, Villamoura

A lovely part of the Algarve, the Old Village has all you need for a holiday within walking distance. The apartment was spotlessly clean with a high standard of furnishings and fittings. Internet booking and arrival instructions were all very straightforward. The caretaker / cleaner was very pleasant and helpful. The communal pool area is also well maintained and safe for kids. Local eateries were also very good. I'll be back!!

A great apartment

The Old Village is an ideal place to stay with restaurants and supermarket on site.

The apartment was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, a real home from home and the roof terrace was great.

We enjoyed the pleasant stroll down to the marina with its numerous restaurants and walked along the beach road to Quarteira(20 mins from marina).

Loule is worth a visit for the Gypsy Market(Saturday) and the old town for ceramic studios.
Used local bus to Albufeira.

We had a wonderful holiday and look forward to staying in John's apartment again.

Perfect peace! May 2010

This apartment was exactly as described, clean, well laid out and in a charming location. We felt instantly relaxed on our arrival and spent a very happy week there. The sun terrace was wonderful with such fanatastic views.
Zanzibar and Princess Palace were both excellent to eat at. The Jazz cafe was also great for less expensive meals.
Would recommend for couples and young families, very safe.
Will definitely visit again, thanks John!

Apartment was brilliant.

As another reviewer we had a drink in the buccaneer & were not made welcome so did not bother with them again either!

Had a few meals in Zanzibar & whilst out there it was my %0th Birthday, they gave me a card & baked me a cake! Which was not expected & was really nice of them, the staff there were lovely.

Cannot see how anybody can walk to the marina in less that 25 minutes, march to it yes but a stroll no.

Back to the apartment it was lovely & clean, facilities were great. Description was spot on, What more can I say. Didn't want to leave would be happy to live in it.

Lovely apartment . Just two of us so we didnt need the two pull down beds. Very well equiped and well maintained. Loved the roof terrace.
It was very quiet in the old Village because of the time of year.
Made a visit to the Happy Buccaneer (pub across the street) but wasn't made to feel welcome, So we didnt go back.
Had a meal in Zanibar and Jazz O in the old Village . Both were good value and very tasty.
The apartment is a 15 minute walk to the marina where O'Sheas is woth a visit.
The owner provided great directions from the airport and also attractions in the area.
A very enjoyable stay.
