Converted farmhouse & barn in centre of village
The Fig Tree cottage is part of Casa Meranka which was originally a farmhouse with adjourning barns and stables. It has now been converted into holiday accommodation which is an informal small complex of cottages and letting rooms in the main house. We have four cottages and one letting room. The property is over 100 years old and has been converted keeping the character of the original buildings. The Fig Tree is a spacious one bedroom cottage with entrance hall, lounge, dining area, kitchen, shower room and spacious bedroom, originally part of the stables it has wonderful high beamed ceilings and plenty of character. It is ideal for single occupancy, couples, families or a group wishing to stay close together. Casa Meranka is situated in the centre of a traditional Portuguese village and is walking distance to the beach and local shops and restaurants it has a private swimming pool and gardens.

Figueira is surrounded by the most fantastic countryside and beaches that you could ask for. It is possible to access both by foot however to be able to really explore we would recommend a car. It is a great gateway to explore the west coast, the Algrave and even Spain. We are close to many fantastic Golf Courses, and the surf is renowned to be good from many local beaches. Other activities close by include horse riding, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, diving, snorkeling, walking, tennis and adventure parks. The village has several small mini-markets, bars and restaurants to sample local hospitality, Figueira is a quiet retreat, perfect to relax and unwind, however it is close enough to many resorts, Salema is the nearest and is just 1.5 km away with many bars and restuarants, others such as Burgau, Luz and Lagos are a short journey away, the local bus will also take you too many of them.
