Quinta Julia, large, rural Algarvian farmhouse with pool and bar
Elaine and Kelvin welcome guests to Quinta Julia to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of their rural paradise. The Quinta ( farmhouse) is separated into 4 unique properties, set in 4 acres of olive, almond and carob trees, surrounded by orange groves just 5 minutes from the historic town of Silves. It has been lovingly restored in local materials and all who have stayed and returned to Quinta Julia have been impressed not only by the warm welcome of the owners but also the natural ambiance of the Quinta's location and surroundings. You can either spend the day relaxing around the pool and bar or head for the nearest beautiful beach to top up your tan where bars offer delicious freshly caught fish. The countryside around the Quinta is home to exotic plants and wild life which is easily accessible and has been enjoyed by families, ramblers and bird watchers alike. Golfers will appreciate the 23 world-class courses all within easy reach, this includes the new Pestana Silves Golf.

For 4 people plus baby or child. Cottage 1 is the original farmhouse and has the feel of a family home. The entrance hall with its Moorish tiled floor leads you into the spacious twin bedroom, family bathroom and comfortable lounge area with settees etc. The double bedroom is located at the rear of the property and has excellent storage space. The separate well equipped kitchen with beautiful rural aspects has everything for self-catering including cutlery, crockery, 4-ring cooker with oven, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster, electric kettle and coffee percolator. Towels are provided but not for beach use. Private outside terrace with teak table, chairs and umbrella. This farmhouse has a real rural feel with traditional cane and eucalyptus ceilings throughout and the kitchen still retains its large walk under cooker hood.

Quinta Julia is ideally situated 3km from the historic Moorish town of Silves, in central Algarve which is the most southerly area of Portugal. It is just 45 minutes from Faro International airport. Visitors to Silves will be impressed by the castle and cathedral as well as the first class restaurants, pavement cafes and bars, and excellent shopping facilities with a wonderful market selling organic fresh fruit and vegetables and meat & fish products is a joy to explore. The beach resort of Armacao de Pera is only 15 minutes away, offering a good choice of bars and fish restaurants set on miles of golden sands with water sports and shaded sunbeds. Close-by there are many stunning secluded 'secret' coves, like Marinha, where you can chill out with a good book or simply soak up the sun for that perfect tan. For the adventurous you are less than 10 minutes away from some fabulous water parks where you will find scary white knuckle rides as well as more gentle slides aimed at toddlers.

The prices are in euros and show the cost per week for the accommodation and NOT the price per person. As cheaper mid week flights are generally available we are happy to be flexible with our letting periods and do not insist on Saturday to Saturday lettings. PAYMENT: A 25%non-refundable deposit is required To CONFIRM your booking and the balance due in euros, on arrival. FOR LARGE GROUPS: This unit can be booked in conjunction with the three other units within the farmhouse, sleeping a maximum of 15 people, see The Quinta advert. Note for bookings that cross over 2 periods the rental is calculated on a pro rata daily basis. The daily rate being the weekly rate divided by 7. Always confirm the rental on booking

| Notes: | As well as the table and chairs the private terrace has a built in corner seat decorated with beautiful Algarvian tiles, this terrace has wonderful views across the open countryside. The communal BBQ and The Piggery (the covered eating area), surrounded by the mature gardens are close by for Alfresco meals, also a short walk through the gardens will take you to the large pool terrace and bar area. All guests have their own private terrace but there are many shaded, quiet areas in the grounds where you can find your own little 'nook' which can become your own individual space. When hot outside this accommodation is always kept cool by its very thick walls, but if needed fans are provided. Washing machine facilities are available at 7 euros per load. |

Golf Information:
Within a five minute drive of Quinta Julia you will find the new Pestana Silves Golf course and within a fifteen minute drive the Pestana courses of Gramacho and Pinto and the internationally famous Penina course, which has hosted the Portuguese Open on many occasions. With our central location on the Algarve and the new east west motorway link none of the 23 courses on the Algarve are more than a 35 minute drive away. You could play a different course every day for two weeks, if you so chose.
