High quality furnished two bedroom apartment (one double, one twin 2 single beds with 2 additional full size pull out beds for lounge). Quiet village location with shared swimming pool, 3 minutes (walk) from beach in Cabanas. 5 minutes to Benamor golf course with 2 other courses within 10 minutes. 3 miles from Tavira, 30 minutes from Faro airport. Ground floor. Excellent blue flag standard sandy beach (huge, with beach bars, food & WCs, loungers & sun shades). Cabanas is a lovely old style fishing village with great restaurants, bars and all local supermarkets and supplies. Ideal for couples or young family. No need for car unless you want to travel around and about to local towns & beaches. If you need picking up from Faro airport just let us know, we have family living in Tavira who can meet you on arrival. Taxis are readily available from airport & can be booked locally in Cabanas/Tavira.

Local tips!

Eating out in Cabanas is great with many local eateries no more than 5 minutes walk away. Prices are good and quality fine with many local fresh fish dishes excellent. Expect to pay on average 10 euros per head for a great meal. Recommendations: 1) Marios & Pescios, next to the fish market towards marina, great fresh fish. 2) Pizza/pasta restaurant next door to Vitamins cafe, kids love it. 3) 'Steak on a stone' just out of Cabanas (5 mins in car) best fillets cooked in front of you on own grill, to die for. There are lots of local restaurants in Cabanas that offer daily specials, ask & you will be rewarded! Local wine is well priced & very quaff able, pay 7-15 euros in restaurants and even cheaper in supermarkets, go for 'borba' red or 'BSE' white, sure to delight. Needless to say beer flows well & costs no more than 1.50 - 2 Euros a glass, kids drinks around 1 Euro a 'pop'.

Arrival/Servcing of Apartment.

For stays of more than one week we arrange for change of bed linen & towels for all. Keys are held with our local property managers, they live in Tavira and can provide local information and guidance as required. They will meet you at the apartment to hand over keys, show you around etc. They will also arrange check out on day of leaving. We need your flight details to make arrangements with property agent to welcome you to Cabanas

Golf Information:

Benamor Golf Course: Good holiday golfing experience, only 5 mins from apartment with good club house & facilities. Played last summer, greens run true and fairways firm but fair. Tight tee shots on some holes and definitely need to be on correct side to not be blocked out by cork trees. Green fee if booked via AlgarveGolf (Manuel) is 45 Euros. Quinta d'Ria & Cima: Played Quinta d'Ria & Quinta Cima, both 18 holes and prefer d'Ria as better views out to sea, with some great par 4s. Both courses of great quality & green fee is 69 Euros (again by AlgarveGolf). Courses are side by side and only 5-10 minutes from apartment. In mid 2007 new Jack Nicklaus course opened (Monte Rei) not had chance to play yet, heard some great feedback from locals. Other course nearby at Castro Marim (25 kms), with further courses within an hours drive in Spain and the Western Algarve. Book tee times on net to save 40% of rack rate fees.
