Tavira Garden, considered to be the premier complex in the unspoiled Eastern Algarve, is well maintained, modern & spacious. The buildings are imaginatively designed in Moorish style each different from its neighbour, set in extensive & immaculate mature gardens. Facilities at the complex include two large pools both with children's pools attached, surrounded by sun loungers & shade if required, large well equipped gym, tennis court, childrens' playground, BBQ/picnic area, lounge, office (Mon-Fri) - English spoken. There is a restaurant/bar (which has internet facilities, and ample safe parking space. The complex is situated in the northern part of Tavira town, one of the most elegant and beautiful towns on the Algarve with a history going back to Roman times. With its narrow cobbled streets, castle, churches, pastel-coloured houses and Roman bridge spanning the broad River Gilão, which runs through the town, exploring is sheer delight. There are plenty of pavement cafes and restaurants, many along the banks of the palm-lined river. There is a daily market selling delicious local produce, meat and fish. It's just a short walk from Tavira Garden to the harbour area. The massive Ria Formosa Nature Reserve is rich in bird and plant life, and the hills and village of the Serra do Caldeirão are just a few kilometres north, with peaceful lanes ideal for walking or cycling. The beaches are massive - wide, clean and sandy with excellent facilities, beach restaurants and cafes. There are four top quality golf courses within easy reach the nearest of which, Benamor, is just 4 kilometres away

  • PRICES GREATLY REDUCED TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT EURO EXCHANGE RATES. These prices are for maximum 2 people plus baby in cot. An additional 20 Euros per person per week or part week is charged for person No 3 and person No 4. All prices include fresh bed linen and towels every 7 days.
    Guests are requested not to remove bathroom towels from the apartment. Good quality beach/pool towels are available on request, price 5 Euros each towel per stay. Air conditioning payable on arrival if required - price 3 Euros per day .Periods shown in 'Minimum Stay' details are always subject to negotiation.
  • Bookings more than 2 months prior to arrival - 30% deposit required at time of booking, remainder payable 8 weeks before arrival. Bookings less than 2 months prior to arrival - 100% payable at time of booking.
    Payments may be made in Pounds Sterling.
    Bookings for parts of weeks are charged pro-rata.

    In case of cancellation, the 30% deposit is non-refundable. Of the remaining 70% we undertake to pay back as much as we recoup in a replacement booking.

Bright, beautifully furnished, very spacious apartment in an excellent position within the complex. Sleeps up to 4 adults. Twin bedroom, ceiling fan, dressing table, wardrobe, heater. Large lounge/dining room, air-conditioned as well as 2 ceiling fans. Good-size TV with satellite free-to-air UK stations. Radio/cassette/CD player. Comfortable modern double sofa bed & second sofa. Heater. Fully equipped open-plan kitchen, large window, full size cooker with extractor fan over, double sink, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, all utensils etc. Iron/ironing board. Bathroom with bath, good shower, WC, basin, bidet, heater. Double doors from lounge onto private (not overlooked) balcony with patio furniture. Heating available in every room, so suitable for winter holidays. Air conditioning optional, price 3 Euros per day payable on arrival if required. Beach/pool towels available on request before arrival, price 5 Euros each towel per stay.

Airport transfers & transport round the area:: We can pre-book your airport transfers with a reputable local cab company at a discounted price. Trains from nearby Tavira Station will take you to many other parts of Portugal. Local buses go to other parts of the Algarve, and buses from Tavira bus station go further afield including to Seville and other parts of Spain. We can arrange car hire for you with a high quality local company, (delivery/return Faro Airport if required at no extra charge) ; although the use of a car is not necessary for the enjoyment of your holiday. Bicycle hire is available in Tavira town.

Miscellaneous information:: Apartment cleaned to a high standard before guests' arrival. Fire extinguisher, fire blanket and smoke alarms fitted. The apartment has a security safe for guests' use (free of charge) and a hair dryer. The tumble dryer in Tavira Garden laundry may be used by guests (small charge applicable). There is an area screened off in the lounge with clothes rail, shelving, mirror, for the use of guests using the sofa bed. Smoking: we ask smokers to smoke only in the outside areas and not in the apartment - thank you for your cooperation. There is a small charge for use of the gym and tennis court at Tavira Garden. Internet facilities are available at several places in Tavira, and the old covered market place in town is a Wi-Fi zone. Guests may be asked to wait until 1600hrs for access on arrival, or vacate by 1000hrs on departure; but only if necessary for changeover purposes.

Golf: Four top quality golf courses are within easy reach; the nearest, Benamor, was designed by Sir Henry Cotton and is just 4km from Tavira Garden. Benamor; 5,500 metres, par 71. Quinta de Cima; 6,256 metres, par 72. Quinta da Ria; 6,110 metres, par 72. Castro Marim; 5,466 metres, par 72. We are able to obtain substantial price discounts at all local golf courses except Colina Verde Maragota.

What a great find

We holidayed in Portugal mid April 2009 and had a wonderful time in Tavira - unspoilt and idyllic. The weather was very warm and welcoming! The apartment was perfect - set in a lovely location, well appointed, clean and equipped with everything you could wish for. Even beach towels were available which was a nice touch. We hired a car from the airport and with easy to follow instructions arrived within 30 mins. We spent one day at the pool area but the rest of our holiday was spent visiting some of the coastline’s quaint little villages and many of fantastic beaches which were within a few miles East and West of Tavira – Barril, Praia Verde and Cabanas beaches being our favourites. Just a few minutes walk to the centre of Tavira we found lots of very good bars and restaurants offering various dining experiences from inexpensive local cuisine to fine dining. Really enjoyed this holiday and can’t wait to go back, will definitely recommend !

Wonderful time

We spend two nice weeks at Tavira Garden this summer. Tavira Garden is a beautiful and quiet place situated close to Tavira town.
The apartment was equipped with everything that you would be needing during your stay. As the weather was very warm, we were happy that the balcony only had direct sun in the morning.
The apartment is very close to the biggest pool area and the tennis court but without any noise at all.
The surroundings were perfekt for our little old son with several swimming pools and play ground.
With regards to shopping the brand new mall Gran Plaza is only a short walk from Tavira Garden. Here you will find all kinds of shops, a giant supermarket and some nice restaurants serving pizza, burgers etc.
If you are travelling with children regardless of age, Tavira Garden is the perfect place to spend your holiday.

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Tavira Garden. The complex is impeccable with very well maintained grounds which make it a pleasure to go in and out of the flat. The multiple pools are convenient and enjoyable for young children as well as adults. The location is centrally located for access to the Algarve's main areas as well as the historic town of Tavira. We did fine without a car but are walkers as the town of Tavira, shopping and public transport are within walking distance. Otherwise, best enjoyed with a car. Most important the flat itself was extremely comfortable, beautifully lit, modern, very clean and well maintained. All aspects of our stay were made easy and pleasant from making arrangements to checking in and out.

A comfortable

The apartment is airy, spotless and comfortable and looks exactly as the photographs portray. The balcony is not overlooked and was nice and shady for lunch, when the sun is at its hottest.
It was great to have our transfers arranged by the owners' representatives and to have them meet us at the apartment. They were very friendly and helpful.
The pool areas are both lovely with plenty of sunbeds. The smaller pool is more tranquil, and the larger pool has the welcome facility of drinks and ice creams to purchase.
Tavira centre is about a 15 minute walk and is very picturesque with a good variety of restaurants. There is a pleasant boat ride along the river to the lovely sandy beach with good facilities.
We had an extremely relaxing holiday and would love to return in the future.

The apartment at Tavira Gardens was great - spotlessly clean, fully equipped and very comfortable with everything that a family with an 18 month old daughter could ask for. The apartment really made our week long stay even more enjoyable.

Tavira is a fantastic place to visit - it has a very traditional feel to it and remains free from hordes of tourists. The town has a great selection of restaurants to choose from whilst the beaches are designed with facilities (restaurants, bars, shops etc) that make for a very relaxing, leisurely day - perfect for when on holiday!

If looking to travel outside of Tavira then the Algarve/Portugal as a whole is well worth exploring and we found that Tavira was ideally located to visit wherever we wanted.

We would love to visit again.
