The complex is situated in the northern part of Tavira town, one of the most elegant and beautiful towns on the Algarve with a history going back to Roman times. With its narrow cobbled streets, castle, churches, pastel-coloured houses and Roman bridge spanning the broad River Gilão, which runs through the town, exploring is sheer delight. There are plenty of pavement cafes and restaurants, many along the banks of the palm-lined river. There is a daily market selling delicious local produce, meat and fish. It's just a short walk from Tavira Garden to the harbour area. The massive Ria Formosa Nature Reserve is rich in bird and plant life, and the hills and village of the Serra do Caldeirão are just a few kilometres north, with peaceful lanes ideal for walking or cycling. The beaches are massive - wide, clean and sandy with excellent facilities, beach restaurants and cafes. There are four top quality golf courses within easy reach the nearest of which, Benamor, is just 4 kilometres away

Notes to the rental rates

  • These prices are for maximum 2 people plus baby in cot. An additional 15 Euros per person per week or part week is charged for person No 3 and person No 4. Long term winter lettings are offered 1 November 2007-31 March 2008 at 165 Euros per week - 4 weeks minimum booking. This price excludes the cost of electricity - meter readings taken on arrival and departure and usage then payable locally. SPECIAL OFFER EXCHANGE RATE €1.45 to the £ STERLING. A SAVING OF OVER 13%!
    All prices (including winter long-term lettings) include fresh bed linen and towels every 7 days.
    Guests are requested not to remove bathroom towels from the apartment. Good quality beach/pool towels are available on request, price 2 Euros each towel per stay.
    Air conditioning payable on arrival if required - price 3 Euros per day (not applicable to winter long-term lettings).
    Periods shown in 'Minimum Stay' details are always subject to negotiation.
  • Bookings more than 2 months prior to arrival - 30% deposit required at time of booking, remainder payable 8 weeks before arrival. Bookings less than 2 months prior to arrival - 100% payable at time of booking.
    Payments may be made in Pounds Sterling.
    Bookings for parts of weeks are charged pro-rata.

    In case of cancellation, the 30% deposit is non-refundable. Of the remaining 70% we undertake to pay back as much as we recoup in a replacement booking.

Large lounge/dining room, air-conditioned as well as 2 ceiling fans. Good-size TV with satellite free-to-air UK stations. Radio/cassette/CD player. Comfortable modern double sofa bed & second sofa. Heater. Fully equipped open-plan kitchen, large window, full size cooker with extractor fan over, double sink, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, all utensils etc. Iron/ironing board. Bathroom with bath, good shower, WC, basin, bidet, heater. Double doors from lounge onto private (not overlooked) balcony with patio furniture. Heating available in every room, so suitable for winter holidays. Air conditioning optional, price 3 Euros per day payable on arrival if required. Airport transfers & transport round the area:

We can pre-book your airport transfers with a reputable local cab company at a discounted price. Trains from nearby Tavira Station will take you to many other parts of Portugal. Local buses go to other parts of the Algarve, and buses from Tavira bus station go further afield including to Seville and other parts of Spain. We can arrange car hire for you with a high quality local company, (delivery/return Faro Airport if required at no extra charge) ; although the use of a car is not necessary for the enjoyment of your holiday. Bicycle hire is available in Tavira town.

Miscellaneous information:

Apartment cleaned to a high standard before guests' arrival. Fire extinguisher, fire blanket and smoke alarms fitted. The apartment has a security safe for guests' use (free of charge) and a hair dryer. The tumble dryer in Tavira Garden laundry may be used by guests (small charge applicable). There is an area screened off in the lounge with clothes rail, shelving, mirror, for the use of guests using the sofa bed. Smoking: we ask smokers to smoke only in the outside areas and not in the apartment - thank you for your cooperation. There is a small charge for use of the gym and tennis court at Tavira Garden. Internet facilities are available at several places in Tavira, and the old covered market place in town is a Wi-Fi zone. Guests may be asked to wait until 1600hrs for access on arrival, or vacate by 1000hrs on departure; but only if necessary for changeover purposes.

Four top quality golf courses are within easy reach; the nearest, Benamor, was designed by Sir Henry Cotton and is just 4km from Tavira Garden. Benamor; 5,500 metres, par 71. Quinta de Cima; 6,256 metres, par 72. Quinta da Ria; 6,110 metres, par 72. Castro Marim; 5,466 metres, par 72. We are able to obtain substantial price discounts at all local golf courses except Colina Verde Maragota.
