Completely refurnished first and second floor apartment set in beautiful and scenic location with its own private swimming pool. The apartment comprises an open-plan living and dining area, two bedrooms with double beds, 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The living includes a brand new fold-out double sofabed and features wide sliding doors to the furnished outside sun terrace with views to wards the sea. Both bedrooms contain air conditioning and the kitchen is fully fitted complete with microwave oven/grill combination, fridge freezer and a four-ring stove. This apartment has a beautiful and large private swimming pool which has a wide terraced area perfect for relaxing/enjoying.

The apartment is set within the seaside village of Cabanas. The apartment is within easy walking distance of local amenities, restaurants, bars, shops and the beach. There is taxi-boat connection which takes you across the natural lagoon to one of the best beaches in the Algarve situated in the heart of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. You can enjoy the superb views of the lagoon and the sea while dining in any one of the excellent choice of restaurants or relaxing in one of the bars or typical Portuguese coffee shops that Cabanas has to offer. To the West of Cabanas, there is the pretty town of Tavira with its historic churches, Roman bridge and Moorish castle. Tavira is an atmospheric town with its markets, fetes, cafes, bars, restaurants and shops that line the famous river, Gilao. East of Cabanas, you will find the towns of Monte Gordo and Vila Real where you can cross the border via bridge or ferry to the lovely town of Ayamonte in Spain.

I book this apartment for his size , mentioned spacious , 6 people and 100m2.
I was very disappointed to realize that the apartment is a 53 m2. on the top there is no 2 bathrooms but one bathroom and a toilet with a sink.
The apartment and the building is not so clean and refurbished as presented in the advertisement. All the building nearby seems newer or under construction.
The shared (not private as mentioned) pool is ok and clean.

Lovely holiday

The appartment is as described, clean and well maintained.However the pool isn't private but we were the only people in it most of the time.
The resort is excellent with good restaurants and take aways.There is a huge clean beach which you pay 1.2 euros to reach by boat.
We used the local railway to get to Tavira, Faro and San Antonio.
We hope to stay here again in the near future.

Good holiday but a couple of niggles

We had a great holiday in Cabanas. The resort met all our expectations - some great little restaurants, a lovely beach and a very relaxed atmosphere. The apartments are at the back of the village but only 5 minutes walk to the centre and 10 minutes to the station. The apartment is in one of the older blocks and not as luxurious as some in the surrounding streets but the property itself was well furnished and had lots of character. There were great views from the balconies and the top balcony was a great place to catch the afternoon sun.

Our main criticism was the ad suggests a private pool. It is not - it's shared by all the apartments - although when we were there we only had to share once. We choose this place because it seemed to offer its own private pool so were understandably disappointed.

The other problem was the building work taking place right behind the apartment. In fact bedroom 2 looks directly over the site and I was woken at 7:30am each day when the builders turned up for work! I would suggest checking the status of the building work with the owner before booking.

Despite the building work we had a great holiday, taking the train to Tavira (10 mins) and Villa Real (15 mins) and would definitely return to Cabanas if the opportunity arose.

Had not been to Portugal for 24 years. It was a welcome surprise.

Apartment very comfortable for the five of us. Pool excellent kept very clean.

A lot of building work gonig on in the Cabanas area but did not distract from a lovely stay.

Thoroughly recommend the coastal railway - very cheap and punctual.
