Secluded villa with large pool, private gardens, set in a lush valley

Casa Margaretha is set in a secluded rural position, yet is easily accessible, has a 10 x 5 metre swimming pool in landscaped gardens that look out over a lush valley, just south of the sleepy market town of São Brás. The villa was built in 2000 and is fully equipped with satellite TV, DVD, stereo, corner bath, microwave, washing machine, hairdryer, iron etc. The garden and swimming pool are completely private and a large south-facing sun terrace, adjacent to the swimming pool, overlooks the surrounding countryside. There is also a lawned area suitable for children, two breakfast terraces and covered barbecue area suitable for alfresco dining. Shops, cafe-bars, restaurants, supermarkets & other amenities conveniently located in nearby São Brás, which is only 15 minutes walk away, or 2 minutes by car. A selection of superb golf courses at Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago & Tavira easily reached along with bowling at Vilamoura. Beautiful sandy beaches also only a short distance by car.

The area is characterised by the tranquil, unhurried lifestyle of the friendly local population. The market town of São Brás, 12kms from Loulé, has a central square surrounded by cafes and small streets. It is convenient for a variety of shops, restaurants, museums, ruins and other amenities. The town is surrounded by a ring of hills that look out onto the sea and the mountains. Low white houses, typical of popular architecture stand alongside more substantial buildings, their facades decorated with tiles, ornate stonework and cast iron verandas. São Brás has a covered market-place selling fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables and a monthly outside market. This area is relatively unaffected by tourism. This is the perfect place to sample the real Algarve.

Notes to the rental rates

  • Payments should be in UK Sterling by cheque or bank draft. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total holiday price is required to book the holiday. The final balance is due 10 weeks prior to departure, together with a cheque for the security deposit of £200. This is to be a separate cheque that is not cashed unless there is damage. This will be returned to you after the villa has been cleaned.
    Our representative in São Brás is available to meet you at the airport - they drive in front of you to the villa, open the villa and hand over the keys. Cost for this service is Euro 20 - paid directly by you to our representative. A second option is for you arrive at Faro airport, obtain your hire car and when ready to leave the airport to drive to the villa, telephone our representative. Directions provided.
  • Our representative will then meet you at the villa within 30 minutes and hand over the keys to you - this would not incur any charge at all. If you take this option, you must drive straight from the airport to the villa and not stop for shopping or a meal etc. Our villa agents are on-call every day (24-hours) should you need any assistance.
  • Rental rates include all linen with the exception of beach/pool towels.

Large open plan lounge-dining room with patio doors looking out onto 10x5 swimming pool (larger than average pools of 8 x 4). Large sun terrace and landscaped garden. Sun loungers, parasols and garden table and chairs provided. Covered outside area with barbeque ideal for al fresco eating and entertainment. Two breakfast terraces. Fully equipped kitchen including all glassware, utensils, crockery etc. Ceiling fans, double glazing, fly screens and security shutters. Travel from Faro airport to the villa will take 20 minutes maximum by car. Children's cots, high chairs and play pen can be hired at small additional charge, see below. Eating Out

is great and very good value. Most visitors to the area eat out nearly every night. Sao Bras has an abundance of restaurants and the majority of them can provide a good meal for under £10.00 for two! Bom Amigo - Chinese Restaurant that is also the closest eatery to our villa. From the villa you would walk about 100 metres to the main road, over the island and then about 5 mins up a path by the road. Churrasqueira Luis dos Frangos (Chicken Luis) - About 100 metre from Bom Amigo on the corner at the intersection with the Tavira road. Speciality is Chicken Piri-Piri, in addition, whole pork fillet cooked in garlic, grilled turkey breast and daily fresh fish are well worth a try. Churrasqueira Sao Bras - Opposite Chicken Luis. Good cheap and basic food that will cost you less than a round of drinks in the UK. Churrasqueira Afonso - Just before you get to Chicken Luis on your right. Very reasonable prices, good food and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Fonte de Pedra - Top of the Avenida (main high street), before the hill starts to rise is a wide turning to your right. Travel to end of this road and it is in front of you. The food is very good and is freshly prepared to order. English is spoken well - very popular at the weekends. The Avenida - Near the top of the main high street on the left hand side. Good food cooked simply but well. House wine by the 'Jarra' jug is worth it too. The locals reckon this is the best Chicken Piri Piri too. The Savoy - Nice quiet restaurant. Food and service is excellent and offers a vegetarian option. Go down to the square, turn right, 250 metres on your right next to a Church. Our favourite! Xangai Gourmet - another Chinese! To find this restaurant, go down to the square and travel from the square towards the Church passing the Farmacia on your right. Restaurant is on your right a few metres down the road. Mama Mia - An Italian Pizza restaurant at the top of the Avenida on the left.

The villa is within 10-20 minutes driving distance of 17 golf courses including Victoria, Millenium, Laguna, Old Course, Pinhal, Vila Sol - all at Vilamoura. The Ocean and The Royal at Vale do Lobo. Ria Formosa, Quinta do Lago, San Lorenzo, Pinheiros Altos (all at Quinta do Lago), Colina Verde Golf at Fuzeta and finally Benamore, Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima all near Tavira. A perfect place to stay and play golf every day!

'just wanted to let you know that we had a lovely stay at your villa - it was absolutely perfect and the pool and garden were just stunning - one of the most perfect weeks we've had and definitely the 'get away from it all that we needed'!!!'
