Quinta Primavera is a unique single storey villa tucked away in Sao Joao Da Venda midway between Faro with its Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and the market town of Loule. The villa is approached up a track past old citrus orchards and has just four properties (all residential) nearby. The village is completely untouched by tourism & 15 min from elegant Faro with its museums, harbour and beach. We're 10 min to the historic town of Loule (traditional produce market), 5 min from Almancil and 10 min from beaches & several golf courses. Santa Barbara is 5 mins away - good Portuguese restaurants, 15 min away is our favourite beach - Vale do Garrao - it nestles amongst pine trees near to Vale do Lobo and is peaceful, picturesque and little known. There are five excellent restaurants there. Water Parks, Zoo Marine, Karting, tennis & of course GOLF! are all close by & Spain is just 40 min drive across the border if you can be bothered to leave the spacious poolside, which enjoys full sun all day.

Our villa is an easy 15min drive from the airport - even by my driving standards! Les and Sally who live on the Algarve will meet you at the villa, show you around and leave you to settle in with a welcome drink. We will be happy to give advice on the local attractions, on all the best places to eat, best beaches etc if this is your first time to the Algarve. Our guest book is full of lovely comments about just how helpful they have been. We can also recommend an excellent car hire company who seem to do the best deals around with nice new cars that you can just leave at the airport when you go - so simple! We'll also be more than happy to give you as much help as you require with planning your holiday including advice on flights etc.

| Notes: | We believe this is the ideal holiday if you want to be on your own, enjoy the self catering fun of villa life and yet still be only a 10 min drive from all the Algarve has to offer. We've been told it's the perfect base to explore from & that the photos don't do it justice (sorry I'm no David Bailey!) We have dozens of books, CD's in & outdoor games to help you make the most of your holiday - we want you to relax & feel it's a real home from home - it is OUR second home after all! We were booked for 27 weeks last year & are fortunate enough to have many delightful comments we can share with you from our guestbook. Our villa is set in 1/2 acre of cared for grounds, allowing you to have a romantic stroll before your BBQ & pick a lemon for that G & T! To help you decide we have dozens more pics! The pool is not overlooked but if you have tiny children, please note it has a gradient from 4' - 6' although you have full visibility of the water from the lounge & bedroom 1 patio doors. |
LOCATION
We bought our rural home in the Algarve in Sept 02 from a lovely German family who left every conceivable kitchen extra! More importantly we have a hairdryer and iron (if you can be bothered!) We were fully booked last Summer and have been told the pics here don't do it justice! We plan to live in Quinta Primavera when we retire (!) but for now need to share its beauty and tranquillity with others. From here you can chill out in the sunshine, watch housemartins skim the pool, see farmers with their goats & sheep meander past & just get away from the rat race. But you're still close enough to all the touristy bits of the Algarve when you want it! We're just a 14 min drive from Faro - great for those not used to driving abroad! There's a small supermarket with freshly baked bread etc in the village and if you fancy an evening out without the car that can be organised. All planes go out to sea so no airport noise whatsoever just the occasional local dog barking as is the way of Portugal!
GOLF
Within 15 mins you can be at what are claimed to be some of the best courses in the world! These are the courses on the Algarve - rate them for yourself! (We can't - we're not golfers!!!) PINHEIROS ALTOS, SAN LORENZO, COLINA VERDE, QUINTA DA RIA, QUINTA DA CIMA, BENAMOR, CASTRO MARIM, QUINTA DA LAGO RIA FORMOSA, PARQUE DA FLORESTA, BOAVISTA, PALMARES, MORGADO, PENINA CHAMPIONSHIP, RESORT COURSE, ALTO GOLF, PESTANA PINTA, GRAMACHO, VAL DA MILHO, SALGADOS, BALAIA, SHERATON PINE CLIFFS, ROYAL COURSE, OCEAN COURSE, VILA SOL, VILAMOURA PINHAL, THE OLD COURSE, MILLENIUM & VILAMOURA LAGUNA - take your pick!
SHOPPING, SITESEEING, BEACHES
Fab designer shopping to be had in Faro - an elegant, interesting town with great museums. Forum Algarve a huge mall is just 10 mins away! Magnificent marina in Vilamoura with great nightlife and bars. Peaceful secluded blue flag sandy beaches set amongst pine trees just 15 mins away in Vale do Garrao nr Vale do Lobo. Lots of watersports and fortunately because it's off the beaten track only those in the know go there! Five excellent restaurants overlooking the sea including Julias (good - but pricey!) hence it's known as Julias beach. Try Paradise Beach Club - great food, service & atmosphere + spectacular views across the wild Atlantic. Faro beach (also blue flag)10 mins away. Santa Barbara 5 mins. Supermarkets sell everything you need from Apolonia in Almancil (bit like M & S) to Jumbo in Faro, Lidl's & Modelo in Loule - we like Modelo - it's a straight road 10 mins away! There's a small supermarket in the village selling fresh bread, cheese etc & delicious wine from just a euro!
Other Activities Ria Formosa 10 min, kiddies playground & picnic area 5 min. Exc water park 15 min. Karting in Almancil 10 min, Zoomarine + Golf!
Golf Information:
If you want to have the minimum drive back after a fabulous day on the golf course then Quinta Primavera is perfect! It is in Sao Joao de Venda - just off the main EN125 - quick and easy to get to from Faro (14 mins exactly - even by my driving!!) and yet close to all the magnificent courses near Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo.

Stayed here for two weeks during September 2007 with my elderly mother who has limited mobility.The property is single storeyed with no steps and she was able to cope well. It was warm and sunny with temperatures generally in the high 70's. Mostly we were able to eat outside. The detached house is one of four clustered at the end of a track. Apart from the occasional dog barking we were never aware of the neighbours and the house is not overlooked. Whilst certainly being away from it all in the countryside, anything we needed was only a short drive away. Faro airport can be accessed in around 30 minutes. The house proved to be a great base for exploring the generally less exploited eastern end of the Algarve. There are several villages and towns within easy driving distance as well as some excellent and very welcoming local restaurants. Beautiful sandy beaches again can be reached in around 30 minutes. The house was adequately furnished and generally comfortable. The kitchen, although very well equipped, lacked a dishwasher and was looking in need of a refit. The house is set in its own attractive, gated grounds but doesn't have what you'd call a view. However the pool and walled terrace are a great feature of this house and come equipped with a large electronic blind to provide much needed shade, as well as comfortable patio dining and sun bathing furniture. The pool and outside areas were regularly cleaned and well maintained. The house was also spotless (again let down by the kitchen) and ready for our arrival. We were met, as arranged, at the house by the owner's agent and it was reassuring to know that during our stay he was only a phone call away. The owner was very helpful and friendly prior to our visit. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to escape from the worst excesses of mass tourism and doesn't mind working a bit at getting to know the local area.
