the perfect getaway

This villa not only met, but exceeded our expectations. We had never hired a villa before and were unsure whether it would suit the needs of our family. We have two young children and also brought along my parents. The location is perfect, 25 minutes from the airport and easy to find. Close to local ameneties, for example Browns across the way is a sports and leisure club with a gym and heated pool (not that we needed it, but useful if staying out of season) and a bar which serves local food. Also close to other ameneties including Zoomarine and waterparks for the kids
The villa itself is in a secluded spot, backing onto the old course, so it is not overlooked and has a stunning view across the treelined fairway. It was wonderful to sit on the balcony off the upstairs bedroom in the morning, cup of tea in hand and enjoy the peace and quiet
The villa is of a very high standard and extremely well kept. There is very little that you will need to bring with you as the villa has everything, it has a full utility room with washer, dryer, iron etc important for us having kids! Knowing that these are here, allowed us to pack light, giving us more room in our bags on the journey home for all our shopping!
The kitchen is fully equiped with anything you may possibly need, including a juicer that was put to good use every day with the bags of juicy fresh oranges available locally. Plus on the terrace there is a fabulous charcoal BBQ on which we cooked the freshest fish imaginable from the fish market in Quarteira
For the days where we just wanted to hang around the house and relax, there are tons of books, DVD's and games for children and adults, including table football. Sky news was very useful for checking to see if the volcanic ash cloud was, hopefully going to extend our stay. Our children spent every waking moment either in or wanting to be in the pool
The only potential down side is that many of the marina restaurants in Vilamoura are touristic in nature and you may need to seek out authentic Portuguese cuisine. There are cards in the villa that helped point us in the right direction
There are so many positives to staying here that I could spend all day writing, but summise to say the villa is perfect. We all had a fantastic holiday here and none of us wanted to leave, the children were very sad as we drove away and the only way I managed to cheer them up, was promising that we'll come back soon, and that's exactly what we intend to do!
