Luxury villa close to Fantastic beach in Gale

We love Portugal & Gale is our favourite beach & now it seems that we have found our ideal Villa just a few mins from the beach....we are 4 adults & we had a great time the villa was very comfortable & well equipt with all you would need...oh!! except wine glasses!!! my sister & I love our wine...as a pressie to the villa we brought some wine glasses & we are really pleased to say that we will be using them again next year

This was our second visit to the wonderful Gale/Salgados area. We were 5 staying at this wonderful apartment. It is very tastefully furnished and well equipped. The villa is part of a complex of 6 sharing the pool. This area is secure and safe for small children if supervised around the pool. There is a lovely small rear garden which is very private, safe and secure. The area is well serviced by bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
The beach at gale is guarded with lovely secluded areas. You can walk for miles along the beach to Amacao de Pera. Salgados beach a 15 minute walk from the villa has a nature reserve with a raised board walk well worth a visit especially when the sun is setting.
Albufeira is a 10 minute car/taxi journey. It is a delightful old town with narrow alleys decorated with flowering baskets. There is a plethora of bars and restaurants to suit all. We had a wonderful 3 course meal at “Cave do Vinho do Porto” for €11 each. I know that sounds cheap but the food was truly excellent.
Whilst a car is not essential for the area it certainly is worthwhile. The coastline from Gale to Carvoeiro has a plethora of delightful secluded bays. On both our visits we have been fortunate to watch Dophins playing from the beaches. A Renault Megan estate cost £160 for the week, airport transfers for 5 would have cost £100 with a return taxi journey to Albufeira is about €24 so a car is a worthwhile investment. If you are going to hire a car take out excess waver insurance in the UK first, it could save you about €3-4/day.
Chris the owner is a Gem. The flights were all in turmoil due the volcanic ash cloud. Chris kept in touch all the time. I doubt you could find a more helpful and friendly person.
To sum up, this villa and the area has something for everyone.... I have never wanted to return to the same place, preferring pasture new each time, until now. I have never been anywhere in the world where I have felt so relaxed and at home....I can’t wait to return.

Situated within short walking distance from a few bars, restaurants and shops, also within easy reach of lovely beaches, Villa Figuera is an ideal base for your holiday or a great place to just relax. Gale provides a good variety of restaruants to choose from.

In the two weeks that myself & my family stayed there we found it very peaceful (totally chilled) and with added personal touches the villa felt like a home from home. Most nights we had a BBQ & sat outside watching the sun go down & the stars appear. This luxury villa has a large beautiful garden & private pool which only on a few occasions did we have to share with other guests.

Chris the owner was fantastic (very helpful) even down to arranging an airbed so that our 3 yr old could sleep in the same room as us.

If you have a toddler then a travel safety gate may be advisable as the villa has a tiled staircase between floors).

Recommended attraction - Zoo marine, approximately 10 mins by car is a fantastic day out for the young & old. There are plenty of places to purchase food, however to make the most of your day we suggest that you take a pack lunch with you.
