'Terraquina' is a stunning new restoration of an old stone house with a pool and contemporary open plan living spaces. Big comfortable sofas, modern kitchen and high beamed ceilings help make the house a special place to relax. All the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, air-conditioning and beautiful views. This is a house for all seasons, whether you come for the pool and spectacular beaches within 25 minutes or country walks and and evenings spent in front of the open fire. We built the house as a family home and it is perfectly suited for families with young children or as a romantic getaway. There is a maid service three times a week and local house manager always available to help out if needed.

'Terraquina' is situated on the edge of 'Canhestros', a small friendly village set in low rolling hills of olive and orange groves. The house is built on an outcrop of the same red sandstone as that used to build the castle in the historic town Silves just ten minutes drive away. Close to the large reservoir 'Barragem do Arade' the area has great local restaurants, country walks and beautiful spring flowers giving it a true sense of the 'real' Algarve. Fabulous beaches, golf, horse riding and other outdoor activities are within striking distance. Fun days out for kids at Slide and Splash, Zoomarine and Crazy World are all within 20 minutes. There is a large supermarket in Silves and weekly local produce markets in both Silves and Messines. The nearest restaurant is walkable at 2km with three others within a 7km and many more cafes & restaurants in Silves and Messines.

The pool area has gates which makes the house suitable for those with small children. There is also a stair-gate at the top of the stairs. Fire wood can be supplied at an additional cost.

'We had a very enjoyable stay in your lovely home, along with the bonus of enjoying some wonderful weather for the whole week. We ate twice at the nearby restaurant which was within walking distance of your property - tasty food, well priced and very friendly hosts. Its a lovely area of the Algarve; close enough to the main centre of Silves with all its friendly tourist venues ( By the way your directions to your property, was nothing less than perfect! ). Suffice to congratulate you on how well the property was equipped, it was first class. The property was well situated near all centres in the West Algarve. We would love to have a repeat stay at Terraquina sometime in the near future. My wife & I would highly recommend a stay at Terraquina to any future prospective renters' Les Williams Oct.'06
