Getting there:: From Faro airport it is less than 45 minutes drive to the villa. Hire car arrangements can be made for you with a local, large and reputable car hire company. Bookings can be confirmed and paid for in England before departure.

For the children:: There is plenty to do with so many sandy beaches and rocky coves within 10 to 15 minutes, two water slide parks and Zoomarine 15 minutes and 20 minutes away, tennis at Penina, horse riding just 15 minutes, wind surfing and sailing at Alvor beach just 10 minutes drive, plus opportunities to surf, scuba, climb, cycle etc etc etc! McDonalds, Pizza Hut and Burger King are all just 10 minutes away.

Nearby:: The Monchique mountain with its host of traditional Portuguese restaurants is just 30 minutes drive. The ancient sea port of Lagos 15 minutes, Cape St. Vincent, the most westerly point in Southern Europe, 45 minutes drive, The ancient,one time Moorish capital of the Algarve, Silves, 20 minutes drive - all having local traditional markets on different days of the week and,of course, Portimão the largest sea port on the southern coast with it's new marina only 10 minutes drive.

Golf: A golfers dream location just 5 minutes from the world famous Penina course which features 3 golf courses designed by Sir Henry Cotton, including an 18-hole Championship Golf Course on its 360-acre estate. 3 other courses are within 10 minutes drive: The Palmares Golf Course, which stretches out over sand dunes; the course at Alto Golf, with the longest Par 5 in Europe and Quinta do Morgado with its mountain views, large greens and deep aggressive bunkers. Within 30 minutes you can be playing on many of the Algarve's internationally respected courses including Salgados and San Lourenco.
