This luxury villa was built in 2005 and is located in Alcantarilha, which is approximately 8 km from the resort of Albufeira. Sea views can be enjoyed from the large 1st floor balcony, which links the three upstairs bedrooms. The 4th bedroom is located downstairs over looking the private pool and gardens. A large open plan lounge and dining room can also be found downstairs along with a dining kitchen, bathroom and utility room. There are an additional 2 bathrooms located on the 1st floor. The nearest beach is Armacao de Peru which is a short 2 minute drive away. There are a number of other wonderful beaches within a short driving distance, including Sao Rafael, Gale, Evaristo, Castelo and Oura to name but a few. The villa is located on a small housing estate, homes are owned by people from all over Europe. The location is 2 km from the A22, the main motorway in the Algarve offering excellent access to all the beautiful coast lines, fishing villages and historic towns, East and West.

The Villa is located in the beautiful village of Alcantariliha, with its cobbled streets and its famous Church of a Thousand Skulls. There are a couple of lovely Italian/Bistro style restaurants only a 2 minute walk away. There is an Aldi supermarket at the bottom of the road from the Villa. Currently under construction are 2 new 18 hole golf courses a mere 5 min drive away. One designed by Nick Faldo the other by Chrissy O'Connor Jnr. The old town of Albufeira offers a never ending choice of restaurants and bars, to cater to all tastes, including a number with live entertainment. Alcantarilha is much quieter in comparison but offers some good quality restaurants at reasonable prices within a short walking distance. The Algarve is renowned for its golf courses, and there are many courses within a 30 minute drive of Alcanarilha, including the world famous ones of Villamoura. Algarve shopping boasts an array of designer high street stores, perfume outlets and a large hypermarket.

Notes: The Villa has 1 downstairs bedroom and bathroom. This would be suitable for any elderly guests. There are only 2 single small steps to the front of the villa. There are 3 steps from the rear ground floor balcony to the pool area. The pool area is flat. You can get into the pool by 3 Roman steps. Access to the pool area without going down steps can be achieved by walking round to the pool from the front of the building, all you would encounter then is the 2 small steps, which are no more than changing levels.

We stayed at the villa for our August 2009 holiday and I cannot recommend it highly enough. There were three families (including ourselves) and the villa was big enough to cater for us all. We have stayed at numerous apartments and villas but I can say without doubt that this one was the most spacious and well equiped that we have ever used.
The villa is ideally located within a very short drive to numerous beaches and within walking distance to the local village that has a few restuarants that serve good food at reasonable prices and a few bars ideal for chilling out.
The owner was excellent and made our stay run as smooth as possible.
A fantastic villa that made for a fantasic holiday !!!!

Luxury villa in Alcantarilha

We have just returned from a wonderful fortnights holiday staying with friends in this beautiful villa. The accomodation was of a very high standard and was well maintained. It made a nice change to have comfortable beds and plenty of storage in the bedrooms.The air conditioning was a welcome bonus when it was particularly hot, although there was usually a gentle breeze that cooled things down a bit. The kids loved the pool and there were plenty of loungers and chairs to keep everyone happy.
A car is really essential to get the full benefit of your stay in the area. There are lots of beautiful local beaches within 10 to 15 minutes drive. We particularly liked Castelo beach which was a fairly quiet, sheltered cove with clear water and some good caves for the kids to explore. We also visited the medieval festival at Silves, it was absolutely brilliant with the whole town participating in the event. Overall a good choice for a family holiday in a relatively quiet location not too far from major tourist towns if you want some action.
