This beautiful villa is situated in the foothills of the Monchique mountains, just south of the picturesque spa village of Caldas de Monchique. The villa is in its own grounds of about 12 acres and is very secluded yet only walking distance from nearby restaurants and craft shops. It is about 20 minutes drive from the beaches at Praia da Rocha and Alvor and a similar distance from several golf courses. The villa has four bedrooms, three balconies and two patios plus the pool area and barbeque. The living area is a huge open plan room with wood burning stove and TV. There is a separate dining room and the kitchen has direct access to one of the patios. If you enjoy walking, footpaths from the property lead to trails that cover the whole Monchique eco zone. For shopping, the large fishing port of Portimao is only about 18km away, and buses stop nearby for Monchique or Portimao, but really a car is necessary.

The Villa

Location: Monchique region in Portugal

Nearest Airport: Faro at 80 Kilometres
Nearest Motorway: A22 at 12 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 20.0 Kilometres
Car: necessary
The village of Caldas de Monchique is only a short distance up the hill from the villa and is well know for it spa water and as a beauty spot. There are some nice walks there and also some good but expensive restaurants. Just before you get to Caldas there is a new Zoo on your right which is quite interesting and inexpensive to visit. A new attraction nearby is the Parque da Minas which is about country life with an old farmhouse, iron ore mine, distillery and other interesting things. The villa is situated in the beautiful foothills of the beautiful Monchique Mountains, but is only about 350 feet above sea level. There are lots of restaurants and cafes within a short distance so the villa's position, although secluded, is not at all remote.

  • All bathrooms and shower rooms have washbasins. There is a full bathroom very close to bedrooms 2 & 3. The en-suite shower room in bedroom 4 has a w/c, a shower and a washbasin. On the ground floor there is a shower room with w/c, wash basin, bidet and shower. There is a cold water shower by the pool.

  • The sleeping arrangements are ideal for up to 8 adults plus a baby in a cot. There is a roll-away bed which can be used by an extra adult if required. The master bedroom has a large double bed (which can if really necessary be divided into two singles) and it has an en-suite bathroom and a small balcony. Bedroom 2 is a double and it has a huge balcony overlooking the pool. Bedroom 3 is a twin bedded room with a small balcony looking towards the hills. Bedroom 4 is at the top of the house and is nearly circular. It has an en-suite shower room.
