Golf : Just outside Tavira 20 mins drive away there are golf courses - Benamore, Quinta da Ria & Quinta da Cima. There are also smaller courses nearby. 40 minutes drive in the other direction takes you to the more well known golf resorts of the Western Algarve, - Quinta do lago, Vilamoura etc.
Tavira Lawn Bowling Club: Tavira County Lawn Bowling Club is just 5 minutes drive at Cerro do Leiria, Santa Caterina - a beautiful green and a lovely spot to enjoy a pleasant game bowls. Visitors are welcome.
Ria Formosa Nature Reserve: For nature lovers there is a huge variety of wild life to be seen at the Ria Formasa Nature Reserve, this area stretches for miles along the coast and is protected. You will find many kinds of birds there some living there all the time and also migratory birds using it for a stopover. The entrance is excellent value for money at just a few Euros.
