The Western Algarve remains untouched by mass development and offers a glimpse of how the region must have been before tourism arrived. Quinta do Montinho is situated between the Moorish town of Lagos and the ancient port of Sagres and is close to many of the best and quietest beaches on the Algarve. The house overlooks the village of Budens which offers a well stocked supermarket and a good restaurant. The resorts of Luz, Salema and Burgau are lower key, quieter resorts than other Algarvian holiday centres and all within easy reach. The nearest beach to Quinto do Montinho is in Salema, just 3km away. A picturesque fishing village, Salema offers a magnificent wide, sheltered bay and a handful of bars and restaurants. The beautiful west coast beaches are less than 20 minutes drive. Luz is one of the most picturesque of the resorts west of Lagos with its wide crescent of a beach, backed by cliffs and its wide selection of restaurants, offering a choice of superb food.

Fabulous house in great resort

The house is clean and really well equipped. The owners were really helpful, told us the best places to eat, best beaches, etc and let us borrow buckets, spades, etc for our kids. Plastic plates/bowls & cups are available too which is useful if you are going with children.

Beds very comfy and everything you need in the kitchen. The shared pools are lovely. We would really recommend the house.
