Three bedrooms, one on ground floor and two on first floor (one en suite), all with built in wardrobes. 3 bathrooms in total all with showers and one jacuzzi bath. Sitting and dining room accessing the pool terrace and garden. Fitted kitchen with breakfast area also accessing pool terrace. Roof terrace with wooden pergola. Parking facilities. Townhouse is set in the Varandas do Lago development on the edge of the Ria Formosa National Park (edge of Quinta Do Lago nature reserve). Famous Quinta do Lago (North & South) and Vale do Lobo golf courses (Royal and Ocean), Pinheros Altos and San Lorenzo 5 minutes away. Tennis courts and exclusive shopping are all nearby as well as are some of the best restaurants in Portugal. Waterparks are 15 minutes by car and other worthwhile trips include Zoo Marine fun park, Vilamoura Marina, Saturday local produce market in Loule and historic Faro old town.

Situated around 4km south of Almancil, and about 15-20 minutes from Faro International Airport, Quinta da Lago area is one of the most exclusive and most pleasant of the Algarve leisure resorts. It is a luxury holiday village, with top class golf courses and sports facilities, set amongst rolling grassland, waterways and pine forests. The western end of Quinta borders onto the Ria Formosa Reserve - created in 1987 to protect some of Portugal's rare species of birds and wildlife. One of best features of the Algarve is its coastline. Miles of sandy beaches make it perfect for that seaside holiday, villa exactly 1.5 km from beach. Quinta Shopping is a classy and elegant shopping area, where you can find designer labels, and excellent bars and restaurants. Local sports facilities include: many renowned golf courses including Quinta, San Lourenco and Vale de Lobo. 2 tennis academies. Horse riding. Water sports centre on the lake, with sailing, windsurfing and canoeing

You have the opportunity to visit the Natural Park of Ria Formosa whose ecological importance is recognised world-wide. The Villa itself is spacious and facilitates 6 people comfortably. Very suitable for both families and young couples, this is an ideal retreat for all. When you're not exploring the glorious surroundings you can relax by the pool in the Mediterranean sun.

Good size family villa but be aware of location

Postives:

- Great size villa - we had 4 adults and 2 children and had plenty of room. Large kitchen area
- Good outdoor and pool area. Temperature of water was fine for young children too. Plenty of shaded area in garden for kids to play in during the day
- Easy to use and good size bbq
- Good kitchen facilities - washing machine and dishwasher etc
- Quiet and private outdoor area not at all overlooked


Negatives:
- It is ESSENTIAL to hire a car if you are staying here! We didnt arrange one before arriving and then found that there were no cars available to hire anywhere during our stay. It takes at least 35-40 mins to walk to the beach and it is a hilly walk without pavements in some places so not ideal when walking with pushchairs etc The nearest shop/supermarkets are also at least 40 mins walk away. We ended up having to do several trips using taxis. The villa is not in an isolated spot but in a residential type area with no amenities close by.

- The downstairs bedroom is very dark and has no air con so got very hot and stuffy at night
- There was no hot water in downstairs shower or in kitchen for washing up
- En suite shower cubicle very small
- Outdoor steps leading from patio bit of a pain with toddlers falling up and and down them constantly - a flat area would have been much easier


Overall a very pleasing stay and a good spacious and well equipped house - all pretty good value for money too.
