Sesmarias holiday villa. Luxury Detached Villa with air conditioning and large private pool

Casa Jakatina: The villa is named after our three children Jason, Katy and Tina. It is built in typical Algarvian style with particular attention being paid to its position near the beach. All three bedrooms have patio doors to the pool terrace or a private balcony and from the first floor and roof terrace there are extensive sea views. The master bedroom suite is very large 20ft x 14ft and has its own en suite 10ft x 10ft which includes a walk in shower, corner bath, two wash basins set in marble, toilet and bidet. The bedroom has a sitting area with a TV and DVD player. The other two bedrooms are on the ground floor in a separate area accessed from the hallway. Each has its own bathroom one with a bath with shower over, wash basin, toilet and bidet. The other with a walk in shower, twin washbasins set in granite, bidet and toilet. All bedrooms have ceiling fans but see 'Lounge/Dining' room for air-conditioning details. There is also a cloakroom (WC) off the hallway.

Lounge/Dining Room : This is a split level area 23ft x 20ft with a maximum height of 18ft and a galleried landing (you are welcome to bring your own minstral). The height and the ceiling fan ensure that the lounge always remains reasonably cool even on the hottest days. However optional air-conditioning is available for the hottest of weather. In addition to the TV, DVD and HiFi there is a library of books, games, jigsaws, CDs, Videos and DVDs. Air- conditioning is not to everyone's liking but is available, as an option, in all three bedrooms in addition to the lounge. The units are wall mounted and are extremely efficient. They work very much like the climate control on modern cars. You programme the desired temperature into a remote control unit, send a signal to the wall unit and very quickly the wall unit will pump out cold or hot air until the programmed temperature is reached. This temperature will then be maintained automatically. The units have four fan speeds with a quiet mode for night time.

Kitchen: The kitchen is huge and has been fitted and equipped to a high standard with solid wood doors and granite work surfaces. The walls are covered from floor to ceiling with hand painted tiles and hand painted wall pictures. When the villa was first built we were introduced to our housekeeper, Isabel, who looks after the house full time. For visitors Isabel provides a maid service 5 days a week, cleaning the house and patio, making the beds and laying the fire in the winter. Adjacent to the kitchen is a rear terrace with a beautiful fountain and a granite table seating six. This is in addition to the main table on the terrace overlooking the pool and garden, again seating 6 although plenty of room for eight. However you will be spoilt for choice with a further large table and chairs on the roof terrace under a colourful pergola with panoramic views of the sea.

Golf: The nearest golf course is Salgados, approximately 10 minutes drive away. However as the villa is central for the Algarve all courses are within about 30 minutes drive. All visitors are provided with a copy of a local golfing publication whih provides full details of all the Algarve courses.
