The small village of Montado is peaceful and typically Portuguese. Very close to the villa are 2 reasonably priced Portuguese restaurants, serving fish and meat dishes. And a little further on there are 2 bars in particular 'Bar Ronaldo', English owned, that welcomes many visitors and opens during the day until late in the peak season. For a greater choice of restaurants, shops and bars, the peaceful town of Vila Nova de Cacela is only 6km South and offers greater facilities including a supermarkets, bus stops, train station and a bank. It should be noted that there is little evidence of tourism - this is a quiet location with friendly locals and reasonable prices!

| Notes: | Although there is no aircon at present there are fans in each of the bedrooms. The kitchen is very well equipped with a 5 ring hob, and a tumble dryer, plus all the usual appliances. There are really 2 living rooms - 1 with seating for up to 13 , and another TV room with seating and the ability to sleep 4 people on 2 sofabeds. |

For the kids: The following attractions provide a great day out (Further details available upon request): Zoos; Aqua Parks; Go Karting; Cinemas, all of which are based mostly in the Western side of the Algarve. There is also a large shopping centre 'Forum Algarve' at Faro. The Spanish border is very close by! Within 20 minutes and 15 km you can sample another country! Ayamonte offers a high selections of traditional Tapas bars and a large number of shops.
LOCAL BEACH - MANTA ROTA
The Algarve is famous for its wonderful sandy beaches and the beach of Manta Rota is no exception. A good range of facilities is offered including snack bars, sun beds for hire and a wonderful holiday atmosphere amongst golden sands and the rolling Atlantic Ocean. There are also a number of other beaches in close proximity and all worth a visit! Praia Verde, Altura and Tavira Island are within a 20km radius.
TAVIRA TOWN
When staying in the Eastern Algarve, a visit to the beautiful Town of Tavira is essential. Here you will find many fine 18th Century buildings, 37 Churches(!) and a large range of restaurants and shops, mixing both the old and the new elements of the Algarve. The town is steeped in history with known roots reaching as far back as 2000 B.C. A Roman bridge links the two parts of the town across the River Gilão, its sides decorated with traditional old bars and restaurants where can relax and enjoy a peaceful drink or meal, to suit all tastes. You can also visit the old castle, several monuments and the typical fisherman’s harbour which links to the waters of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Tavira Island and its golden beaches are reached by small boat from the main harbour where you can sunbathe and swim in the pleasant Atlantic Waters. Drive time to Tavira is 10 minutes.
